Hi,

Noobie alert! Post #1... Had my first SV a couple of weeks now, a completely standard K3 on an '04 plate. Chuffed to bits with it!

This is a great forum, found loads of useful tips and as such I'm fitting a Hamicad eliminator and grills when they arrive this week, and now I'm looking to change the can. I'm going for a Remus but I can't figure the difference between Grand Prix, Grand Prix Revolution and just Revolution had a look on the Remus website but I can't seem to get the language to change to English!

Anyone know the key differences between these models and the best place to buy one? Thanks...

The 'Grand Prix' isn't road legal, The revolution is (with removable baffle :!:)

Hope this helps :?:

P.S. I'm selling a Revolution in the 'For Sale' (http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=26657) section at the moment ;)

Wow that was quick! Thanks.

Now this is where I get all confused (trust me... it's easily done). The Grand Prix comes in either Road Legal or Race versions according to some random retailer Google threw at me. Is it possible that the Grand Prix Revolution is the Road Legal version of the Grand Prix (Race can)? If so, what's the difference between Revolution and GP Revolution? Maybe it's a shape thing...

See what I mean about easily confused!?!

Maybe the GP revolution is a full system. You will be able to tell by the price.

I've ordered a GP Revolution for my K5, i don't think it is road legal cos i had to check with my dealer if he'd let it pass an MOT in 3 years.

But it's gonna sound awesome :D

i've ordered a grand prix revolution and that is oval and road legal with removeable baffle
the revolution is a trapezoid shape road legal with removable baffle
and the grand prix is a oval RACE can not road legal
imho the best is the GP revolution as it is the same as the race can but road legal and smaller the the revolution
hope you understand this

Thanks for clearing that up, I'd almost got there myself found it all a bit confusing ...did I mention I'm easily confused? :)

I ordered a Remus Revolution in the end (the trapezoid one). I confirmed with Hein Gericke chap that the new Grand Prix Revolution is Road Legal or Race depending on 'baffle extraction' same as original Revolution. According to the chap I spoke to the only difference between the GPR and R is the shape (oval and trapezoid) and size (GPR smaller diameter), they're both of the same construction (straight through), however the GPR probably has different tonal qualities (get me!) due to the reduction in packing surround.

Must say my dealings with Hein Gericke were spot on. Good price (£227) and great Service (Ordered the RR yesterday afternoon at 15:00 then picked it up this morning at 10:30!! Great service!)

I'll be fitting it (along with Hamicad grills and FE) tomorrow morning.

Apologies if I've confused anyone... 'tis easily done

Arrrhahaha

Well that's why they come from good old Austria.

There always has been a communication problem.

I had to wait 3 months for rivet bands to arrive.

And go for a Grand Prix! The remus race cans don't say "Not for road use" on them.

Did any of you guys order your Remus exhusts from Hein Gericke? Ive been meaning to ask this for ages, just want to check if i have been riped off. I ordered a Remus GP Revolution, road legal with the removeable baffle in the alloy finish. Now the Hein Gericke book says its £241, the guy in the store then produced his own list from a Remus catoluge which said it was something like £280. I ended up paying £260. I phoned them before I placed the order and was told I would get it for £241 less the discount that they were doing at the time. Just wanted to know what everyone else was paying.

Cheers

Paul

i think you might have been ripped off mate they are £241 in the demon tweeks book as well.
as for mine it was a bargin, i ordered a blueflame originally and was told it was about £260 then i changed my order to a remus rev titanium high level and they did'nt charge me any more but the list price was £318 (same a demon tweeks)
if i was you phone a few other hien gerickle shops and ask them for a price if they are all £241 go back and ask for the reason they charged you more.

have remus got their own website or can you only look at them through 3rd party sites?
