Okey-dokey......
Mogs and me are going for an evening potter about on either Weds 3rd or Thurs 4th August (2005  ); date dependent upon weather - we'll take the best :D
Anyone care to join us?
I suspect the usual 6:15-6:30pm meet; venue and route tbc depending upon who's about.
Oi!! Welsh Wop!!

Put me down for that one :)
How about doing this area (http://www.cardiff.gov.uk/Government/images/Test_4_klm.pdf) for a change
Route revised as Rich's proposal.

Yeah - why not :D
Can we aim for a 6:00pm meet or is that too early?
6 is a bit of a rush, 6.30 is okay

Maybe B4223 or whatever rather than the A449 to Raglan tho.. then must make sure we take the parallel road that runs right alongside the dual carriageway between Rgalan and Aber as alst time we were on the dual carriageway. I know those roads v well.

Good idea :)
I'm a possibility - the earlier i can know which day the better, but could potentially be available for either :)
The long-range weather forecast has Thursday 4th as the better day/evening.
I suggest making a decision over the weekend when the forecast will be a bit more reliable, but pencil in Thursday 4th as the provisional day.
Hope that's OK?
Looks like the weather forecasts are being revised for the better :D
Let's make it Thursday for definate, eh?

No, im not mobile yet :( Have a nice safe ride guys. Look after Sweetie-pie Jabba
Bah move Wales nearer this way, bit far I think :?
Weather forecast now more or less certain and favourable. Aunty Beeb has given us this:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/images/symbols/fiveday_sym/1.gif
:D
Right
1. Various bods PM-ed.
2. Bike thoroughly cleaned, polished and topped up with fuel
Lookign forward to this. Mogs, please could you printout and copy of the directions? I'll try to memorise them, though.
WelshWop:
Sweetie_pie ain't coming this time
However, she is keen to meet us and learn to ride/get a bike. Would anyone mind if she tagged along as pillion on another occasion? I'm happy to take her on the Hornet and potter along at the back (as usual).
I'm going to out of contact for tomorrow and most of Weds, so just assume thatb I'll be at Bassaleg on time. Please PM me if problems.

Sweetie_pie ain't coming this time
I'm happy to take her over the Hornet
Anyway....
hang on a minute...where shall I meet everyone and at what time?
Actually if its 6.30 I might as well come to Bassaleg. If I get lost I'll text Jabba or Mogs and meet you en-route somewhere. I'm happy to lead the way between Monmouth and point 10 or something. There's ample opportunities to be accidently lured onto the dual carriageway.

Not with an audience - she might be shy.

We are leaving Bassaleg HS, Newport at 6:30pm. The location is shown in Mogs' map/directions on the first page of this thread.
Basically, at J28 of the M4 (Tredegar Park), turn right towards Risca on the dual carriageway. At the roundabout, take 2nd left and follow the signs to Caerphilly. The layby in front of the school is about 50yds before the Tredegar Arms, on the left-hand side.
Does this mean that you will be there?

As I understand it, Mogs will be travelling Caerphilly to Bassaleg via Machen. Nice road anyway, rideout or no rideout.

I do late's on Thursday n Friday's which means I don't hit the bridge till about 7 ish, plus after an hour and half of Motorway madness to get home, my heart will want to do it, but.... I'll be shattered!
Sorry dudes, I'd love to be there. Take it easy, and I'll give yers a wave from the M4 :(

Your call

Well Im just leaving work now. Hope it was fun....
Rich. We had a nice ride, Rain held off for the most part, but the roads were wet, neither Jabba nor I have ridden the Wye Valley in dry conditions.
There's me thinking you didn't want the get the GS dirty :D

Jon, you should've spoken out :( , I would not have minded shaving parts of the route off to ensure you got back to work in time.
See you next time round - October
