View Full Version : A waterproof cover that's... actually waterproof?
I've just moved my SV into the garage from under a oxford stormex. Now i'm very careful, i always buckle the bottom, i know not to leave anywhere the water can pool and where i can i keep it off the bike but over the past 24 hours she's got rather wet (went in dry last sunday).
Can anyone recommend anything better?
Oxford Rainex  .

I almost put in the original post "jonboy, i know what you're going to say!"
If you're sure it'll be better that's good enough for me.... You've never had water on your bike after rain like this?
Nope not a drop. The Rainex really is waterproof whereas the Stormex (for whatever reason) isn't.

what would u expect from a product called STORMEX? :-k

My only idea is where the fleece lining touches the bike, because it's designed to be put on a hot exhaust it... does something... special. Will order a large rainex now.
Do remember though that the Rainex isn't designed for a hot can, you need to let it cool for five mins or so.

Have to say, haven't had a problem with the Stormex cover yet and the bike has been covered for the last few days. When I uncovered Phantom this morning I found a bit of condensation but thats about it.

I had me a DDB covers cover. Had if 5 years and it did the job for my Trailway and both my SVs, all of which were left outside in all weathers. You could put it straight on a hot bike and it always kept it dry (apart from any condensation, of course, which is bound to happen if you put a wet bike under a dry cover).
I passed it on when I sold the pointy, and I understand it's still going strong.
cost me £35. I think they've got a website.
