Stupid question.

On a sunday he washes his saints shirt.

Not been too many tears on it this season

Peter Henry

Tim...The Saints shirt is certainly here with me! Alas even the modern one's are extremely warm and not really suited for summer use here.

Mind you we got our butts kicked against Hull last week! :?

Quiff...Ace I love the pics!

So boys and girls what do you all think of my government provided err hum "race track" then?

ok,ok no run off areas to speak of, and you wouldn't want to sail over any of that armco but just look...

Race track perfect surface

No kerbs

No lamp posts

No grid or man hole covers mid bend

No pot holes

No junctions

Oooh and just one or two degrees of heat!

Tell me what it is I like about having a bike over here?

This was a cracking day and was made all the better for Dave and Kim taking time out of their jolly hols to come and see me. :grouphug: 8)

Thats a lovely bike, i love the Ducati 749s! Crackin pics as well, have you got a slipper clutch on it?

Enjoy
Mark

Peter Henry
03-08-05, 07:59 PM
Mario,

No I have not gone for the slipper clutch yet.The next step is a Termignoni kit which I have been waiting almost 3 months for! When that is fitted and set up with new chip and race air filters the bike gets a 7 to 8bhp boost. That will then see it have about 123bhp!
Plan of action is then some stickier rubber and possible re gear when the time comes to change sprockets and chain...looking for even more kick out of the bends...top end does not interest me.

When all is done then and I find myself wanting to have a bit more fun going in to bends, then I will go for the slipper clutch.

The one I have is standard but I have just changed to a sexy red pressure plate as you can see, along with stainless steel springs, gold spring caps and the vented clutch cover.

There was a minor **** up by Casoli in that I ordered both the clutch cover and vented engine sprocket cover at the same time.Problem was that when they arrived the shade of anodising to both was like black and white!
I have to say though they were very good and had two more done for me which are very good, here on my desk are the first one's ready to post back to them.
Thanks for your kind comments mate! 8)

I'd just like to say I hate you, spain and the clouds. And the roads here. And the water that falls from the sky. And the conjestion. And the british drivers. And ... anyway.

Lovely bike, lovely roads. I need a :grouphug:

Thanks for all the extra information, it just makes it sound even sexier  It was the fact the casing was the gold colour that made me wonder about it, it looks nice. As for the Termignoni kit oh ho that is amazing :o I know the owner of Ducati Glasgow and he has them on his track bike and have seen and heard them on road bikes too, they sound totally awesome especially on the track bike(possibly the loudest sweetest sound from a bike i have heard) I would love to own one of those as not too keen on the full on 999, however think i shall be waiting a while until (a) i can afford one and (b) can insure one

Regards
Mark

Quiff Wichard
04-08-05, 09:44 PM
oh peter cant afford it

he nicked it and rides uninsured !!!.....

*breaks down in tears*

why cant we swap lives for a year or 2 ?

:D

Peter Henry
06-08-05, 07:59 AM
Mario....Like the 748 before it..to all intents and purposes the 749 is the bike for the real world. The extra you get with the 999 can only be exploited on a track really. A pal of mine stepped down from a Honda SP2 to a 749 and rates it way higher than the Honda!

Quiff....You promised you would keep that to yerself! :? Maybe your Kim better bake a cake for the next time you come and visit me! I will supply the number I am to be addressed by when detained by His Majesty's pleasure!(Or maybe you can insert a key in a cut out in the pages of a bike mag?)

Bikeageboy...Ah mate it's not all it's cracked up to be for a bike lover yer know! :^o I mean the temps over the next few days are forecasted for up to 47ºc! 8) This means you have to get your sad ass out of bed and out on the bike in the morning as otherwise you just completely cook!

I will though consider carefully your suggestion of a life exchange! 8)

Next years ride out location.

Peter Henry
06-08-05, 04:16 PM
Moobie....Not as daft as it might first appear. You guys having an absolute ball both on the riding front and the social front are not a problem at all. the main hitch is the logistics of getting the bikes down here. To ride all the way through France right down to the South of Spain is a big,big ask.

What a whopping time I could organise for you all if it ever happened!  8)

Quiff Wichard
