Well guys, I finally got through a cheque from my insurance company (a very good settlement figure too Sveeedy  ) and I am going to Glasgow tomorrow to see this SV.
It was posted on here a while back by Generallee and he kindly sent me these pics today. It is an 04 reg and is fitted with Skidmarx lowers and and Art can and it looks like it's in very good condition.
Tell me what you think :D

Ain't she a beauty?
personally don't like the lowers, otherwise - superb 8)
She looks very nice mate
Those lowers are interesting but not bad, the snow shovel on the back needs to go, get a new fender elimnater for it :D
Glad your getting back on two wheel and sv wheels at that :D

Do you want my honest opinion :?:
Obviously its stunning, because its an SV & its silver
However, I don't think the lowers match the bikini fairing... Its crying out for a Hamicad fender eliminator :!:
On the up side, its already got a can (albeit an ART - Don't like ART, but thats personal )
Go for it if the price is right

Yeah, I did think about an IL4 (ZX6R/GSXR6) but for the money I have to spend I think the SV's are great value.

i would say it been down on the left, dropped perhaps :?
i can see a mark on the last pic to the rear cowling, & it has new bar ends, but of course it could be the pic or i am very wrong

The marks could be from panniers ?? looks too far back to have been from a drop....
Though.. if you want to eliminate any worries of it dropped, look at the back of the radiator on the left side, if it goes down on the left, then the rad hits the floor as well, so it ends up getting bent up against the No1 cylinder.. and at £300 a pop, its not one of those items thats just changed!

Very nice... hoping to be getting a black one tomorrow myself... hope it goes well! Still waiting for my lousy insurance to cough up another cheque, hopefully this coming week
Did you have to push them or did they just pay out well the first time around?

They paid out well the first time so I didn't feel the need to complain.
I Got £50 more than top book price

Check behind the gear lever for marks on the frame when you view it- if it's been dropped on that side it'd probably markt he paint or even dent the metal. Hardly the end of the world but good discount ammo.
I hate the lowers, they just look bad IMO. But it's a good price I think.

I like the lowers..
honest I do..
I think its a fine bike.!
bar ends mighta just been changed for looks- was nowt wrong withmine and i changed em
I think: - its gotta be in good nick and well maintained.
look at the house and the plants and the fence---- all excellent- obviously someone who looks after their stuff!!
at the EOTD its up to you- ride it! if u like it .....your choice.!!....
seems a good price- is it too good to be true??>>>>>

It was probably a late reg k3. Was probably still in the dealers when the new mark came out.

Bah! Typical - not even my fault and they try and stuff me. Had a mate who ditched his ZX6R due to massive lack of throttle control on a bend. Got paid out loads and didn't even affect his NCB...
Ah well, just makes me all the more determined to bust Equity Red Star. Unless they offer something more this week they'll be going to arbitration  Carole Nash got so nasty I ended up reporting them to the financial services ombudsman. Going back to Bennetts from now on.
Was that Glass's book price or Parkers? Parkers is very high - seems to assume everyone paid full price in the first place. Glass's is more reasonable, though £3100 for a 10 month old K4 (which ERS offered me) makes even Glass's look overpriced... amusingly, parkers reckon the amount I was "awarded" will just about get me a K2 if I'm lucky.
There's loads of great SV's out there - even if this silver one doesn't work out, there are loads of K3/4's going for around £3000 on here and in MCN/Autotrader.
Try to haggle the price down a bit.............. flippin' thing isn't even painted
If it floats yer boat and you have good feelings about the deal then go for it

I am SOOOO gutted!!!!!!
We (my brother & I) set off for Hamilton (Glasgow) at 08.30 this morning to go and see the SV pictured previously. We arrived at 12.00 to view the bike but was very disappointed to find that it was not in the 'very good'condition' as described in the for sale post.
Basically the bike had previously been sent down the road, and showed it
We did a 330 mile round trip to see this bike. I did ask the vendor on the telephone prior to seeing the bike, if there was any info I should know as I was travelling a long way to see it but he failed to reveal the extent of the damage.
Oh and BTW my brothers car died as we got back to Aberdeen (blown head gasket)
Liam, I hope someone buys your bike mate but it would have saved me alot of time and money if you had just come clean sooner rather than later.

That's a bummer... have only bought privately twice and both times turned out well, nothing nasty... even worse when you travelled so far to see it  I'd have been very upset. Keep an eye out, maybe next time ask if they can deliver to you, that way you don't have to make all the effort and anyone with anything dodgy will pull out or let you know rather than go all that way and lose the sale. When it's your time they're not so worried.
You'll find another.
(Stu if you're reading this I only wanted you to deliver it cos it was so far, not the other reasons!) :D

:-dd its just a feeling i had, little things about the bike that had my somethings not right bell ringing. I sometime get it when i see other vechicles on the road & it makes me think before acting. like about 3 weeks ago when i was going to over take a ford metro & decide not to seconds later it suddenly swerved left then right, the driver was half asleep
