Apologies for the taste crime over the rear hugger but it's all that I could salvage from my last bike and this one needs a hugger, so, people with taste, beware!
Had to part with some of this though...

I'm not sure about them - heard some not-so-god things, and had R&G's before. But will I change them seeing as it's extra money and I'm pretty confident I'll not be dropping her (insane swerving car drivers notwithstanding)? I doubt it...
She was £3100, plus £100 for the guy to deliver it (all the way from sunny Wales to Kent  ) Well worth it :D
There's areas where the yellow paint is coming off (probaby due to the shockwave when it hit the central reservation at 70mph) and it's black underneath. I'll spray it balck eventually, but for now I like the lairy looks.

£2,500 Nice that...

The guy at the bank had the happiest face as he handed me the cash - like "you lucky B@#~"£$!". They do sealed packs of 50's and in the pack it's like nothing, no thicker than a block of post-it notes. With the 20's to make up the rest of the cash it was a sorry sight - fitted in a small envelope and could be in a jacket pocket.
If I'd robbed £1million and opened the case to find it in 50's I suspect I'd be depressed, as there wouldn't be much there. Typical - yo0u go to a bank and take out all that money and it doesn't look impressive at all... I'll ask for it in 5's next time. Much better picture!
Shall we do a deal then....

Anyone seen Dodgeball? That scene when he says "Have you ever seen a hundred thousand dollars?" and opens the case, and it's a tiny pile of mangled notes? :)

Some real notes, not phoney Princess Di ones :D
Knew a graphic design guy who scanned a £20 note and altered it so there was a picture of him giving the finger instead of the queen, plus various swearing instead of the numbers and figures. Used to hand them to tramps and homeless people who were overjoyed at his generosity. Until they took a closer look at the note.
Humm, only trouble is the tramps know what he look's like and will mug him next time they see him...
Good Idea, but would have used the bosses photo instead...

Glad to hear you;re back on 2 wheels Sveeedy.
Nice bike, best colour too!
Enjoy the bike mate!
I am happy the bike went to a good home!
Thanks for the warm welcome.
cheers

Glad you're back on 2 wheels mate. Regarding the crash mushrooms, Unfortunatly I've seen the old R7G mushrooms and the DH mushrooms tested. The ones you have on there seem to survive hitting the deck prettey well!
Do not under any circumstances fit the old R&G ones where the nylon bungs screwed into the metal cups, as I've seen about 3 crashes now where they've just been torn right out. The Newer R&G ones seem much better designed.

Then again, i binned it 3 times in varying style on the R&Gs without a problem, as have many others. You hear more stories of failures but then again, there's probably 5 times as many R&Gs on SVs as there are any other bung...

I'll almost certainly keep the motrax bungs in there. After all, I don't intend to drop it, so it won't happen
I was impressed by how the R&G bung that took the brunt of the force worked - the whole thing was smashed into the side of the engine, and the frame and engine were badly damaged, but the R&G didn't fall apart and the nylon bung was still firmly attached. But not even R&Gs can save a bike when it hits the dreaded Armco...

I'm not sure if the design's the same for yours, but for the carbed bike the DHMs are a disaster... The left hand one is just feeble, I reckon you could breakit off with a decent kick!

They're about 1" diameter aluminium alloy bars, which seem to go into/through the engine/frame. They look and feel solid, though the R&G's looked better with that big aluminium alloy block between the bung and the frame. I think the DHMs will suffer/bend more in a big crash, but if I crash that bad, bike is likely to be a write off anyway.

It's the bolt though- on the carbed bike, there's a short M10 bolt with an ally spacer which bolts into the engine. The bung then bolts into the ally spacer. The bung itself's very strong but the threads strip as soon as you look at them funny. Mine stripped the second time they were ever torqued up- the thread's barely capable of dealing with the recommended torque never mind an impact... Plus, the outside bolt was too short on mine, meaning only about a third of the abvailable thread was used!
