What should i take with me on my first trackday? Its this thursday at mallory.

And, what is the best way of keeping a bike strapped down in the back of a van?

Its a Merc sprinter long wheelbase high roof. it has 6 anchor points (front middle back) and there is going to be 2 bikes in it.
I have been told to put the bike on the rear paddok stand, is this a good idea?

keep bike in gear, zip tie front brake on, then strap it down.

Dont forget to take something to sit on while you are waiting about, food, plenty of non-alcoholic drink, spare 20 litre jerry can of petrol (I used about two bike tankfuls on my trackday yesterday) and a roll of tape to cover the lights... oh and another good tip is to tape over the speedo, I found it helped enormously as you are not worrying about how fast you are taking corners, just that you are taking them at whatever speed feels safe...

Most of all, enjoy it and dont worry if fast people are passing you, by the end of the day you will be keeping with them!

There is an article in Bike or Ride magazine about how to prepare yourself for a track day, mainly mental preparation and what to eat/not eat.

take a screwdriver so you can take your number plate off, a small bag to put all your stuff in. You'll be needing some knee sliders too :D

You can get some tie downs from most bike shops to hold the bike down in the back of the van.

Thanks for all the info.

The back end now looks like a real racebike. All of the numberplate bracket and indicators have deen removed.

I have also removed the mirrors as i have told that i should not be looking be hind, unlike on the road. And the belly pan is now off the bike too

1 day untill trackday...

Im getting giddy now, lol
