Occassionally I have reason to travel around the UK with work. Today was one of those days. I decided, as it was nice weather, and as I was not meeting anyone important, I would take the bike.

Started at 7, just got back now. Took in boring motorways, crap traffic, but loads of fantastic A-roads including the A44 from Oxford to Evesham. What a great road. Right at the end there is a series of really sharp downhill bends. Got my knee down on the way back on that section on the outside lane whilst doing a CB13Million. What a great day. And I was getting paid. And i'll get 35p a mile.

345 in total. My record, but surely some of you have done more in a day? My **** could'nt go another yard. Who's gone the furthest in one day?

Don't, you're not the first, you won't be the last.

Of course I never do that. :-dd

I have been told that the particular section on the A44 where I had the most fun is called Fish Hill. Wish I lived there.

Fish Hill is the section of the AR05 that got missed out, well missed by most people except Etienne, Will and myself, who enjoyed it twice.

It is indeed Fish Hill - just as you drop down towards Broadway. It is a known knee-down road around these parts and peeps often stop at the top, turn around and do it again.

Just to complete the chain - I did 342 last Monday, beating my previous max number of miles.

And me - hell it's steep - and very very fast - I was scared silly, but I ride like a geriatric.

I buy food. I don't get a car so when I have to go and see suppliers I get mileage. It is supposed encompass all running costs, not just petrol. If you calculate all costs it does not leave much for profit. If I had a 2000cc bike I would get 45p. Seems like a good reason to get one!

Does not count. 28 hours is longer than a day! And km's are just confusing. They make it sound longer.

my grand total was 3500miles for my holiday, 1500 each way over 3 days or about 30 riding hours. The rest in portugal.

some biker on the boat back i met did around 1100 miles in less than a day when he had to come back from slovenia quickly, i would not like to try that on the SV650, he had the BT1100 though.

Pulled into Leicester Forest East services for some fuel behind a two up Black naked curvy at about 6 pm tonight.

Started talking to the lad, he had riden from Basingstoke and was on his way to drop his girlfriend off in Leeds before riding back down to Basingstoke tonight. I reckon thats about a 500 mile round trip.

I wonder whereabouts he is now ?

500 miles.. from the south of France to a bit past the middle... SV fully loaded, tail pack extend, paniers extend, tank bag extended, me and the wife adding about 20+ stone. Max speed 120 mph.. just too much drag and wieght to do more.
