i quite fancy a nekid sv1000  the nekid one looks mean and the s model looks sporty, what do you think?

Naked is the only way to go !! :D :D

If you're not too fussy about getting a K5 - a few dealers still have some K3's & 4's in stock going for about £4000 - £4500 - how cheap is that !!! :D

If you do want a K5, I understand there's a shortage 'cos dealers have used up their allocations on the faired ones - & that you'd be lucky to get one this side of Xmas !!

Poll is working.

I'm considering an SV1K next year. But I'm also thinking about several other bikes as well.

Nekkids do look good but I'm used to my curvy 650s.

I've ridden both.

If you want to go over 80mph (on a track, obviously  ) then go for the S, if you don't go on motorways at all then the nekkid is worth looking at.

Once you've ridden naked you'll never fancy it the other way  .

I love naked bikes and the wind clawing at me is just part of the thrill, man against nature. Oh and it ultimately stops you from riding at imprisonable speeds (more or less).

Only wusses hide behind a fairing  .

I love the syling of faired so there's no way I would consider buying a naked...

Sorry guys, I just think it looks swrong having the styling all racey at the rear, then this big round light that looks out of the 60's stuck on the front... Kind of like it's incomplete...

I agree, which is why I'd swap it for dual chromes like I have done on my 650.

Now apart from that it looks wonderful particularly when you add the undertray and hack off the rear tea-tray. Renthals and a seat cowl would finish it off perfectly.

That's really interesting - almost like that! Not sure I like the Speed Triple lights so would think I'll keep with the smaller ones I've got on my 650 but I like the idea. Certainly with the belly pan and seat cowl it looks nicely finished. But would have to be black though ;).

They're not from a S***d T****e - they are 4 1/2" Bates as used for the headlight conversion on Bandit 1200's from Banditmania - I thought about the smaller ones - but, having ridden a Gixxer 1000 with them on & having been hardly able to see more than a couple of yards ahead of me, I decided these would better. They also give a better 'line' to the bike with the 'strange' angular clock
