Guys, I find that when I am sat at lights the 20 seconds or so the indicator waits before it starts chirping away is simply not long enough. Has anyone managed to adjust the amount of time it takes before chirping or even just a way to stop the chirp altogether, I realise this is a tiny niggle, but it gets so annoying stopped at lights with the bike chirping away!!!
cheers for any advice (thats useful!)

Eh?? :?
What chirping?
Is this a new thing on the k5?
Sounds like a pain in the a*se but there must be a fuse for it that you can pull out

You talking of the alarm going on? Why would the indicators go on after 20 seconds unless you actually put them on?

ok, I have a K5 and maybe its a new thing, I dont know, but once the indicator has flashed for about 20 seconds, the bike starts chirping as it flashes, I guess its some sort of safety feature so you dont drive around with your indicators on but god damn its annoying!!

I have ridden an SV1000 that did this, it was linked to the alarm.

Take it back to your dealers and say that it isnt supposed to do that and make them make it stop
If you were not told about it before they fitted the alarm then kick em in the nuts too!!!

How about you cancel the indicator and then put it on again.Does that turn the beep off?If so then I would say live with it as it sounds like basically a good idea. How many of us have forgotten to cancel the indicator?Be honest now!

Took it back to the dsealer at the weekend, and before I fully explained the problem they said "it beeps as its indicating?" so this is to do with the acumen alarm, 2 minutes later looking at the smallest small print at the back of the maual, you just put the alarm in service mode and hold down all 3 buttons on the fob until the indicators flash!!
Problem solved
Good work Guys!
And the best thing about service mode (if it is the same as my datatool system 3 alarm) is that it means the alarm/immobilser is totally disabled, zero protection. Great!
And they make it beep every 20 seconds too, a "look at me, I'm an unprotected bike" beep for those in the know. Now thats clever....

Oh dear me! Rather than being very state of the heart fellas...I rigged one of these up on my 250 Kawasaki back in 1976! A few of the new bikes had them then.Seemed to bean item that was removed by maufacturers not too long after, I heard silly stories like Old Bids confusing them for Pelican crossing beeps and walking out in front of bikes???.. What's that I can smell? (BS) 8)
have you tried to put your foot on the rear brake when at the lights? On the datatool turn bleeper thingi, it stops it from beeping, i think. It might work on the acumen as well.

I've actually added an indicator beeper - leaving them on is (was) a favourite folly of mine.
What happened to self cancelling indicators? My ( Brand new) 1979 RD250 had them, and they worked really well.

Use the oval botton!!
If the alarm is all set all you need to do is press the oval one and it will make a funny beep sound but then it will be in service mode without the beeps
Now anyone know how to make them arm/disarm quietly??
i think you have to ground the white accessory wire on the datatool alarms.
I have the accumen cat 1 alarm, it was a pain at first cos everyone starts looking round for the bleep - I've just got into the habit of cancelling the indicators before it starts - count to 3 and re-indicate, I would rather do that than ride down a road with my indicator flashing (it has focused me so much that I can't remember the last time I forgot to cancel the indicators)
If you want me to I'll post all the key fob options for the Accumen Cat 1 alarm?
I have a laserline alarm. Works fantasticaly, dont beep, dont have serive mode, can ar,/disarm without beeps, and is fantastic. However, its the size of an aprillia RS250 :?

My datatool doesn't beep unless its service mode ... which is still prtected if you turn the ignition on the alarm should go off. Just beeps every 30 seconds to annoy people :D which is great when I work in the garden :D ****es me neighbours right off LOL
