Hi all,

Been away recently spendin the last 6 weeks in hospital after I wrote my bike off riding into a car (I cant remember how or why)

Anyway I just thought I'd see how everyone was. I'm healing well, got scars on my face (helmet came off even though it was fully done up), my knee and collarbone and eye socket and back of my skull got fractured but theyre getting better!

I'm on weekend release from neuro rehab so if anyone fancies talkin to me, post ure talk on here!

 Really sorry to hear about your accident Jake. Glad you're on the road to recovery though. The only thing you're missing out on at the moment is getting soaked in the rain - if that's any consolation...

Hope you're fully better soon. :D

yeah was on a uphill dual carriage road, coming to a corner, drifted into the car next to me. unexplainable really, anything could have happened to make me do that. anyway, the bike hit a kerb, 2 trees and a signpost and got written off.

and the insurance wont pay out cos witnesses say it was my fault.

any1 wanna donatte a bike?

Commiserations fella.

By the sound of it you are lucky to be alive.

What type of helmet fastener did you have? I know that some people wont wear any lid apart from the double D fasteners because it has been know in the past for the clip type fastener to fail in an accident.

Bloody hell mate... Hope it all heals well and fast. Sounds like it could have been a lot worse.

With the bike... How written off is written off? If your insurance aren't going to pay out then it's still your bike, and you'd be amazed what can be fixed (or recovered from the corpse).

On the subject of lids, I remember being advised to stick with DD types instead of seatbelt types since you readjust the DD's every time you put the lid on, while clunk-clicks can become loose without it being obvious over time. Seems quite sensible...

I was told the same, it's one of the reasons I by far prefer DDs (put the misquote button down and step away from the thread  )

hi again guys, on weekend leave from rehab again...

in answer to your questions...

i wasn't comprehensive, cos it would have cost £2000 instead of £750 and I just didnt have that money after buying the bike

helmet lock was a DD clip thingy, we have no idea how it came off

and the bike can't be repaired... its a write off

so...

I will have, once I have taken it all apart:

- red petrol tank, not damaged
- remus gp revolution exhaust can, 2 weeks old, not damaged
- rear wheel, not damaged
- fibrelyte carbon look rear hugger, slight scuffing
- engine, cracked waterpump case and crankcase cover but otherwise fine, 14000 miles ridden, will sell complete or will break

there should be more to sell, once ive dismantled it

BUT if anyone wants to buy the bike as it is, maybe to use everything off it, or try and fix it up, let me know.

Give me a text or a ring on 07910 664328 cos I wont have the internet again till next weekend after this lunchtime

cheers
