View Full Version : Rear tyre slow deflation

My rear tyre seems to be losing pressure - about 0.5 psi per day. I've given it a prod and a kick and there's no obvious nails, stones, glass bits etc. Am a bit unsure as to what to do - it could be the valve I guess, but have no idea where to get it checked out. Is quickfit or ATS a good place for this sort of thing - ideally south west london?

Just put a bit of spit on the exposed valve. Any new bubbles means you need a new valve. It could be you need a new valve stem as corrosion can build up inside the wheel. Have you had your wheels polished? I've heard that this can speed up the rate of deflation.
I'd be wiling to bet there is a small nail you haven't found, valve stem shouldn't leak if you keep a cap on it
If its a slow puncture then put air in the tyre every couple of days . if it needs more than that get it checked (professionaly). I have a slow puncture in the front and when it starts to steer like a shopping trolly i know it needs air.
