Hi All,
The storey so far... The bike stopped working after a weekend of heavy rain. I've drained the carbs etc.
Pulled the plugs - the front is wet with petrol, the rear dry. I know feul is getting through so I assume the rear cylinder is firing, whilst the front isn't. Swapped the plugs and got the same thing. Checked the HT leads. The plug cap was loose on the front, so I trimed it a bit and screwed it back in again - it's now tight.
The people in the shop said to hold the plug against the engine - but I've been told by others that as the SV is likely to be a MOSFET ECU this could be a very bad idea - killing the ECU bad. Comments please? Does anyone know how I can check if there is a spark without putting the plug against the engine. The only thing I can think of is getting a colourtune - but is that going to fit into the tight space available on the front cylinder?
Other than that anyone got any idea what else I can check before giving up and taking it to the shop for lots of cash :(
TIA
Stu
