Okay, I got my Yosh slip-on for my '05. The instructions say to unbolt the front exhaust flange and replace the front exhaust port gasket.(Suzuki part# 14181-22d01.....not included) With only 2200 miles on my bike is this really necessary? I will be removing the complete rear stock section to have someone cut off the stock can for me. Funny thing is the instructions say nothing about changing the rear exhaust port gasket. Is this just an alignment thing for the front gasket? A forum search turned up nothing. I really want to do it right the first time.

rinky - if the can is just a slip on then you dont need to take the pipe off the bike.

Just mark the pipe and cut the old can off with a hacksaw!!! It's a 10 minute job to cut the old can off 8)

Quite right although it felt more like 1 hour when I did mine in the cold!!! But should be a straight forward job as mentioned.

and protect the swing arm, over zealous use of saw/angle grinder and swing arm don't mix.

Thanks guys, I went ahead and took it off anyway 'cause I was scared of hacksaw and swing arm f***ups. I took it to a local welder/machinest I had done business with before and 2 minutes and $00 later I'm outta there. Reinstalled header and yosh can, cleaned with rubbing alcohol and....my 15 year old stepson is a very privileged boy!! I haven't ridden it yet but riding beside him sure was nice. It's not real loud and barks just when you want it to. Can't wait to hear it at 10 grand!!
