I have just stripped all the fairing off my Sv650s. I have to say that I love the bike and I really like the arch of the grab rail.
I was down on my honkers and looked up to see the sun coming through the bar looked so cool.
That got me thinking what obscure part of the bike really floats your boat?
you are both very strange. and very worrying. :?
I find the whole to be more than the sum of its parts
though in the spirit of the thread ill say the curvy fairing which is why i got the sv650s rather than the naked one. makes the bike look good. :D

I like the pointy fairing, sorry I can't help it

I do rather like the head lights but only at a particular angle that I can't remember at this time of night.... I think it was front right.. and slightly above... Curvey S
EXCELLENT question. :D
I don't think for me it could be any one part... I've often sat on my doorstep with a smile on my face, totally appreciating the sheer beauty of my sv... To me it's like looking at a well built bloke. He's got the curves of his muscles, accentuating his strength...
There are those who see a bike as nothing more than a bike, a car as nothing more than a car... but I guess us nutty types see more. ;)

Either the tail piece with a seat cowl on it, or the frame. A sort of cross between a beam and trellis one and it looks a corker.
I like the brake light on the carbed SV, especially with a clear cover.

 I'm afraid never really had the time available to stare at the bike long enough get 'Arty Farty' on :) at obscure bit's.
Too busy hopping on and riding :-dd  but...
I'd say the frame on a naked makes it look cute in a butchy kind of way. A bit like very laid back /lounging stance but primed for action   .
Cheers

I love the single headlight look of my naked SV - hence why I went naked... :D
The massive radiator on my ZXR, when you get the fairing off and see it it looks awsome. I have no idea why. Also the front Discs :D
I am a pointy fan...nothing against curvys but i think the faired curvys look like they been designed by a blindman

light the blue touchpaper and retire to a safe distance
a blindman you say? at least they've had an element of design thrown at them, more than i can say for a pointy.....
etc etc etc and the beat goes on :D

I personally think the SV is functionally ugly.
I don't like the colour red, I don't like the curvy look and I sure as hell don't like the single headlight naked look.
As they say, beggers / choosers n' all. Us poverty stricken mortals put up or shut up.
But when I nailed that roundabout overtake at 60 in front of channels golf club last night, leant over, throwing it left, right and left again, and almost growling into my lid, I couldnt have cared less if it was painted pink with my little pony stickers all over it and styled by a blind accountant, as long as it did *THAT*!!!

You can go off some people...
Yes I know you have one that fits that description!
The shiny downpipe that ive spent so many hours on polishing!
Though seeing the girl in the light does look awesome :D

My favourite bit on mine is probably the tail light... When I bought the bike I was planning to fit a clear one but after about a week I decided I really like the way the stock one looks. I have no idea why.
It's either that or the little brembo logo on my master cylinder :)

Being a former pointy owner..I think I can safely say that I love the look of the curvy frame. Not a million miles different than the trellis frame on my Ducati.
I used to prefer the non exhaust side of my SV also for some reason.
On Sunday a 748 pulled up along my bike, as well as an MH900.
Maybe I am a philistine but I have to say much as I love the under seaters and the single swing arm plus the double side by side head lamps of the 748.......My 749 totally outshone it. When you get used to the new shape of the "9" series it really grows on you and you would never step back.
When I had the fairing off the Duke I remember thinking how unattractive all the bits and bobs,of pipes etc are to look at. But all the same it screamed....purpose and function and is altogether pretty awesome.

i love it when the rev counter dips & then shoots up just as you kick it up a gear & speed off into the distance :D
View through the windcreen as you wind the enqine through 9K
