please help to settle an argument. to derestrict a pointy all you have to do is remove the restricted ecu and install the full power ecu is this correct :?:
very correct, im still waiting for my standard ecu to arrive, feb 16, not too long now!!!

you should have the original one, the bikes are supplied normal with full power. Restrictor is a unit you buy and install, you have the responsability to keep it restricted. You still own the original ECU to install when you sell it or get derestricted.
hey tsm, just as an interesting (or not) side note, if you buy the bike from a dealer and your situation is such that you should have it restricted, then as you will have to buy the restricted ECU from them they fit it for you and are not supposed to give you the old full power one until such time as you are allowed to use it.
im not sure how this works legally as the full power ECU is technically your property, but there you go, the law never makes much sense anyway. just thought you might wanna know.
oh yeah, standard price for a restriced ECU from suzuki is 100.00, fitting is easy as its just plug and go.

its not a law that they cant give it to you, all the law says is that your bike has to be no more than 33bhp. This has all been asked & said before on many threads.
