Hmm, girlfriend's parents live in Worthing, so there is a possibility that I could make the trek down Friday daytime and we could meet up with you all. I'd be even slower than usual, though, cos of a pillion.

If only the 550 was road going, at the moment ,instead of a bottomless pit of a project so I will just have come on the kwak instead.Tee jay depending on the weather Adam may well come as pillion as he fancies a big burger.Especially as it looks taller than him.

Not an SV owner but you made me so welcome on the last ride in the rain round North Devon that perhaps I can be an honary member or just an interloper.
I'll be there for this one

I might well join you somewhere along the way - especially as Wessons is one of my usual local bike haunts! :D

It's not known as the Ogri Cafe any more though guys  and I don't think the Armageddon is even called the Armageddon any more  - at least it's not advertised as such when you're inside! I think it was just called the "Big Mamma!" :?

There is also a very good bike pub just down the road from there - The Six Bells at Chiddingly, so you could have that as a second stop. :)

I should point out that the A27 is a very boring road, and isn't even that good a road! (bad surface, junctions, hidden dips, etc.)
I would suggest staying on the A259, through Brighton Seafront, past Newhaven, through Seaford, slight detour over Beachy Head and then through Eastbourne, up the A22 and onto the A267 towards Horam.
Would probably add about 20 minutes to the journey but would eliminate the poxy A27 and give you a much more interesting and scenic route.

Any ways - I'll be there... Unless my bike packs up again!

Let's hope your bike OK.

Your advice on the route is sound, hadn't thought of taking the coast road through Brighton.
