Hello, for those of you that take the bike on a daily commute, do you always wear full gear? Where do you get changed and where do you keep all your gear safe untill home time? Thanks

nope, aparantly i don't as i'm about to head out in jeans  don't slap me. i'm a big boy
I usualy get changed and keep my gear in the cleaning cupboard. as the cleaner is a biker. so tis all good.
 i should be out the door. long ride ahead of me. later peeps
I wear my leather jacket and hood jeans and change at work in the loo as it is so much easier than taking my leather trousers off

For uni I just wear my leathers all day. For work it does't affect me, cos I don't commute.
I wear waterproof textile's over ordinary trousers for going to work. And same sort of jacket. Hang them up in our workspace. No one has complained ---- yet. And since my boss has just done his CBT, I guess its now part of the acceptable dress code.

Yep always wear full gear, textile jacket, leather trousers
I get changed in the toilet at work, I keep my lid on my desk and my boots and everything else underneath my desk.
I keep a spare pair of shoes underneath my desk to change into so I dont have to carry them to and from work

You sit in class with full leathers on? Aren't you a bit un-comfortable? Not that it matters what people think of you, but do you not get some strange looks and/or comments?
Full gear: Yes, definitely - wearing anything else around London's rush hour is tempting fate!
I keep a suit and shoes at work, and change at my desk if I'm in early (usually). I wear a clean shirt under my leathers, and have spare trousers at home which I swap over fairly regularly.
I don't wera leathers, but Gortex and always wear full gear. Most often than not I wear my clothes under my gear (casual wear in our office) Sometimes carry suit in Backpack and get changed in toilets or in my office if no one is around yet. Pair of work shoes always stays in office. Never been a problem.

Lecture halls are pretty uncomfortable anyway.
As for odd looks, we're talking about students here. Do you really think I'm the oddest looking just because I'm wearing leathers? (those that know me can keep quiet)

I live 5 miles from uni but I always use my bicycle to get there. In my opinion, if you live 5 miles or less from your workplace/uni/college, cycling is the best option. By the time you put your gear on, take the chains off, warm the engine, you will not be saving any time by riding rather than cycling. And then add the cost of petrol and extra engine wear due to lots of cold starts...
If I were to commute more than 5 miles each way I would probably use the SV with full leathers and get changed at work.
I do 130 miles a day so it would be silly of me not to wear full kit...
I have both leather and textile gear that I just swap depending on the weather, though I do also keep some waterproof in the 'topbox' just incase.
I keep all my stuff either under my desk or on the shelf and get changed in the loo, unless I have my over trousers on then I just wip them off at the desk.
When I was at IBM (about a 10 min ride) I did what my Draggin Jeans in.

I always wear full kit to work even tho it's only about 8 miles. I get changed in my office and my stuff lies scattered around the floor for the rest of the day. My lid lives on my in tray or just sat on the desk with wet paper towels on the visor soaking the bugs off. My boss loves it really, oh and remember all changing in and out of kit must be done in work time not your own.

Im guilty of riding home from work in trousers and a fleece.
I normally wear shorts at work so at least I do change into trousers. I do wear boots and gloves though
I use textile trousers with armour that go over my work trousers so I can change at my desk.
Gloves and boots under the desk with my bag. Helmet on the filing cabinet.
I too keep shoes under my desk which I change into at work.
Back in the bad old days at Uni things were harder.
I kept all my books and stuff in a carrier bag inside my rucksack. When I got to work I would get the carrier bag out and put my biker gear in the ruck sack. I then had to carry the bag on my shoulder and a carrier bag with books and a helmet in each of my hands between lectures.
I just wore jeans on the bike when possible and my waterproof over trousers didn't have armour and could be compressed down into my bag. The boots were derry boots so they could fit in the bag easy. I only had a small bike back then so I didn't go as fast....

Of course, is there any other time?
I keep several pairs of shoes at work and wear gortex over my smartish (if I can be arsed) work clothes. I have my jacket on the back of the chair, the trousers stuffed in a draw and my boots under the desk. We have secure parking so I leave the lid strapped to the bike. If its really wet I bring everything up to the desk and drap it everywhere. No complaints so far.

Nah, i wear my boots though for sure. Wear leathers if im going round to mates, balls to what they think i look like lol
i normally just ride around in my swiming trunks. i think i look sexy in them and they offer all the protection i need :? :?
Lid, GLoves, HG leather jacket with back protection, jeans and boots. I travel all over london on nights, days and during rushhour. It wouldnt be practical for me to wear my 1-piece everywhere.
For me, armoured Spidi textiles over my shirt/trousers, with a tie shoved in a pocket. Don't need to wear a suit luckily!
This was the only reason I bought textiles instead of leathers.
always. will never ride without wearing my gear.
have learnt the hard way you never know when your going to have an accident and be grateful for wearing your gear. yes I know it doesnt make me invincible but sliding down the road I know that Id rather my jacket wear out than my skin.
usually wear my goretex jacket with either leather trousers or goretex jeans depending on the weather. wear leggings underneath my jeans so if Im late I can change at my desk and then go out straight away. :D
Always wear full leathers , boots + gloves even if it is sweatering hot (as I don't have summer protective gear) I don't feel safe without them and I wouldn't put myself at greater risk. I get changed at work and leave them in my locker. It is a bit of a bind some days if I can't be arsed to get my leathers on then I take the car. But usually on the way home when I am stuck in all the traffic I wish I had taken the bike.

always the correct gear you will be glad you did if you come off. its always when you dont expect it.
Wear either leathers or Gortex (depending on weather) Lid sits on shelf, gear hung up on hook, boots under desk. I have a change of clothes shoved in a draw and a pair of shoes under the desk. Have been known to spend all day in leathers when its been cold and as I am the depts Manager, what I says goes!! :D :D :D

My commute to uni was 2 miles but felt like less. Was ALWAYS worth taking it though as I'd always go places after. :D Of course, that was an er5...

   Kewl answer. :D
I always wear full kit... u never know when bad luck will strike. ;) I carry a change of clothes with me to work, although I'm not sure what I'd do in the case of having no base to dump stuff... Probably MAKE somewhere to safely leave stuff.
I always wear full kit. At work we have a smart casual dress code meaning i only wear some thin trousers and a shirt so the leathers go on top. I keep a smart pair of boots in my drawers and usually just change in the middle of the office! Everybody has got used to me stripping down, and as there are now several bikers at work nobody bats an eyelid.
its also only a 10 minutes journey but alway wear your gear folks. My first off 6 weeks ago- i was only wearing some thermal waterproof on top of my work gear and was lucky i was wearing that at least. i had 15 stitches and have only just got the all clear from my nurse.
my off last week  (ok i wasn't moving) made me thankful for the new gear, even with my boot i had a sprained ankle if i hadn't had the gear one it probably would have made a small prang much more painful.
Both of my pffs were on the way to work - you never know when you are gonna have an accident
i just wear my textiles jacket helmet and gloves to work
on my commute its always full leathers, boots, the lot.
bring a change of clothes in a rucksack, wear trousers shirt and tie in the office. leave my gear hung up, i can leave it where i like cos im a billy big nuts in the company and get away with most things....

Full gear is back protector, boots, gloves & either 2-piece Dainese leathers (with CE armour or 2-piece Cordura suit with CE armour :!:

Full leathers for me, I feel uncomfortable with out my leathers on when I'm on the bike, crashing B4 has taught me to be protected at all times...
Just wish I could use my bike its in bits and theres a bus strike tomorrow and I ain't walking 15 miles to work... So it looks like I'll be in the house...
Full leathers or gortex suit with armour all the time.
Textile jacket, gloves, helmet and just jeans for my legs when going the 1.5 miles from my halls to uni :)
When I had a 2 stroke I used to walk the 10-15minutes cos the bike took 5 to warm up, 5mins for me to get the kit on and then 5 to ride there through lousy traffic and then I had to lug a helmet arround.
Now I have the SV its throw a textile jacket on, button it up and put helmet on in the lift, jump on bike, go straight to uni :) And for some strange reason the SV only takes 3-4 minutes to get htere
When I drove to work I used to fool myself (and maybe my boss, he never said anything) that I got away with being late by grabbing a tea from the canteen and pretending I'd been in for hours. Now if they're isn't a pile of armoured textiles, gloves, lid etc on my desk then they know I'm not in. But I get in quicker so I'm not as late as I used to be ;)
