Well, I've come a long way since my last post - I now have my very own SV!!! (bought off this forum, in fact).

I bought HG Tricky 2 piece leathers and am currently using a borrowed AGV lid (comfortable and good fit), and borrowed gloves and boots.

I have a question about which lid I should go for. Previously I had provisionally decided on a Shoei Raid 2, but it turns out after trying raid 2's in all sizes that I don't think I have a Shoei shaped head! :( Unfortunately for me, the Arai's I tried felt very comfortable  - and of course the AGV I'm using at the moment is a good fit on me.

I don't mind spending reasonable money - and am happy to wait until the NEC show. I'd be happy to spend up to around £250-300. Tried the Arai Condor on briefly which felt comfortable.

The other thing is I've seen some lids that are fluorescent yellow high vis designs. I've been wearing a high vis vest (YMCA stylee) but it does make me feel a little self-conscious despite its solid reasoning  . I saw a guy riding with understated leathers like mine and a bright fluorescent lid - which made me think..hummmm, interesting.

What do you guys think? Who makes these bright lids?

Cheers

I've certainly had the idea in the past to buy a lid and have it professionally resprayed fluroescent lime (which I think would look fine with black leathers) but never gotten around to it. Maybe I'll give it more thought as you've now jogged my memory...

Not sure I'd been keen on Chrome, besides the fact it would be a nightmare to keep clean, I'd be worried that it would reflect either sky or tarmac and not really make you stand out - except of course if the sun hit it at the right angle and gave everyone nearby a bright reflection!!

Was thinking more of high vis yellows and blues... I think AGV use some bright detailing on their race reps...

Try a BMW Sportintegrale for about £185. Comes in a rather natty solid yellow colour and is a really nice, quiet lid anyway.
