just had it delivered

throttle.......6.67
carriage.....7.70
vat............2.52

total........16.89

You must have paid for special delivery??? Did you not ask the charges when they took your order???

I did and she 'sorted' it out as it was only a small item ... like I said, I only paid ~£3 p&p.

I was very happy with their service ... I am surprised they didn't tell you how much they were taking from your card ... they did when I got mine ... hence questioning it and her 'sorting' the P&P .(thought she had made a mistake that time) .. sorry to hear this dude ... I feel a bit guilty :?

Hey this mods powers don't stop at that ... not only will it give you HP and quicker engine pickup ... it makes you more attractive to the opposite s3x!! 8)

At £16.89 it's a bit of a ripoff, but on the other hand still pretty cheap for what you get-buying one of the "proper" 1/5 action throttle kits you see for sale for the SV would cost you a tenner more and work less well :)

Could you please post what you thought of it once you've fitted it Hovi5? I'm thinking of getting one and for some wacky reason trust your judgement!

Dude, just mark with a bit of tip-ex on your existing grip/housing 18 deg (3 mins of a clockface) further forward and then sit on the bike and twist the grip to that not full throttle. That is how much 'wrist saving' you will get. If you find that a little more comfortable (which you will) then go for it!! 8)

I refer you to part of my initial comment on the matter:-

FACT: The stock tube requires 90 degrees rotation from zero to full throttle and the R6 tube requires 72 degrees. So you are gaining (loosing?!?!) 18 deg of twist.

If you were to put that in minutes on a clockface terms 18deg is equivalent to the angel represented by 3 mins!!! Yep that is it, 3 minuets (of a clockface) less twist, put your hand by your watch and simulate it …

Hey now, careful with context!

I didn't 'admit' you were right, I just agreed with you. The other points raised (both by me & someone else) in that thread are still valid. :smt019

throttle done

a bit tricky as there was no ajustment so i had to force the nipple in cos i could not be @rsed to take air box off to do it off the carbs (dose this make sense? )

dinnertime now

hot grips after dinner

2 hours + to do the throttle due to seized on bar ends

Is the return on the throttle ok?

When I did mine it took alot of adjustment to get this right, and I had to take the air box out to get to the carb side adjusters.

woooooooooo-hooooooooooo

just finished throttle & hot grips

IMO it is worth doing

bike seems to have more power & now i can get it up even easier (without the clutch)

as most have said b4.............DO IT

Took me about 3-4 hours to do it all

I was more concerned about this line :P

& now i can get it up even easier

I'll give the throttle grip mod a go then Hovi5. Got that to do along with fitting a ciggy lighter under the pillion seat and patching up a wee bit a scratched fairing and an indicator replacement.

not been out yet

might go out later if i get all the glue off the tank

so how much extra bhp is the throttle & tank raisers (with sponge removed) mod

BILLY

You don't get any extra bhp with the throttle mod, You just use full throttle more!!

If you would only have listened in the first place, its Impossible yes, simply Impossible by design for the throttle mod to give any more HP or faster engine pickup

The tank raisers on the other hand will help the engine breathe more easily and presuming you don't get too lean, that should give you a little bit more. I doubt we are talking more than 1-2 hp even at speed though?? ... Its impossible to say unless you had a dyno and wind tunnel ... but access to plentiful clean cool air is always a good thing for HP 8)

Wrong Wrong Wrong Wrong Wrong Wrong Wrong Wrong Wrong Wrong Wrong!

It adds at least 300bhp and will make women, (or men/goats/whatever you like, we're not prejudiced here), fall at your feet and desire you to their very core.

And you'll get a rebate from the Inland Revenue and dispensation from the Queen to break any old speed limit you like and be immune from prosecution.

Plus a dinner date with Kylie, (or - insert 'celebrity' of your choice), paid for by Tony Bliar hisself. And all for the price of a trip to a Yammy dealer and a few quid of your hard earned.

Little bargain!

(PS, this thread is sooooooo boring I'm locking it as a public service. No, don't thank me - you're quite welcome.)
