So, am I the only one to point out that the exhaust will get rusted to f*ck inside becasue of the fact it point's upwards???

Yeah it will, but water will still stay in it, but any bits of crap could get into that.
Plus water will stay in it, jsut not in big amounts. I'd imagine it'd destroy the baffles in no time. :? If exhausts on bikes are anything to go by.

That picture is the wrong way round... You can read the motiff on the tee shirt in the mirror, and it's not a mirror image.
How did you do that ?
And I think it looks cool. Although from the front, it looks like something out of Alien.

You must be an owner of a curvy.... ;)
I like it. I like the can. I can't wait to see and hear an aftermarket can on those bad boys!
I think it would be quite the job to replace it... Think there will be slip-ons anymore? :?

Surely Yamaha's engineers will have thought of that.
Too much of a basic error to make , I would have thought!
Point taken though.

Ah what is it with you fellas? The majority of what you are looking at in the "naked" picture is normally out of vision so what the F+ck if it isnt that pretty? My Ducati is sweet with her clothes on too,but not at her best disrobed. Ok so the new R6 is not overly beautiful front on but if they had gone indicator incorporated in mirrors then it would apear very different.
Apart from that I think that bike is bloody stunning. I also very much like the Triumph too. I am sure that Yamaha have considered water ingress in to the exhaust,if not a 5 minute job with a drill and bit sorts it doesn't it? However do we know what material the exhaust is made from? Some materials les prone to oxidisation problems?
Once again they have dared to be different with the exit position of the exhaust and I applaud that instead of just following the present fashion. All in all a cracking package of abike IMHO. Too many same old comments going on around here, maybe one or two people want to think outside the loop a little? 8)

Kwak...I understand what your saying matey....but at times bikes get a slating purely because they dare to be in or around the SV market,(I dont mean budget obviously) it's like...hey come on...let's live and let live..it might not be for you but it does not make the bike a piece of crap? There was an element in that for comments made on the new kawasaki twin also?
But then again what do I know? :?
i hate it
on a seperate matter, anyone notice the look of temptation on this old boys face to the left ?

it looks poop to me matey! no dout its a great bike but they all look to samey samey to me. the er6 is no dout another great bike but at the end of the day its all down to personal pref aint it.
i purchased my sv on looks and being a twin because ive been the sports il4 way and had enuf of all that but they are great bikes.
perhaps it will grow on me because i remember a time back when they changed the old 916 ducati to new model which you have and it scared the bloody life out of me(why spoil the best looking bike in the world)
but now i like the new ducati (your shape) so who knows?

Well if there were no such thing as a Triumph 675 or a Kawasaki 636 and I was looking at a 600ish screamer.......I would buy one tomorrow. In the red colour scheme! Brings back fond memories of my yoof.
When I sat on the new R6 it made my SV seem big
I reckon it looks pretty cool.
Them new style cans look quite interesting to me, certainly look better than that saggy-ar$ed can on the gixer thou's!!!

It doesn't look like the Cat can be junked as easily as the gixer 6 can. The lambda sensor is right in the silencer box, which is right under the end can. Not sure but I'm guessing the cat is in inside that big silencer box.
With the gixer 6 and 750 the lambda is before the cat, so fitting an end can is easy and won't affect running. AFAIK...

I like the look of that can, so if I was that bothered about it being too quiet, I'd rather de-baffle it than replace with an aftermarket one that arguably wouldn't really fit the rest of the R6's styling.
The cat is still the most restrictive part of the system.
Probably needs a bit of back pressure seen as it seems to ride more like a 2 stroke than a 4 stroke.

I had a CBR600 at the time, it felt like a push bike.

I rode a ZXR250R ninja, it's a 4 stroke and had the 19,000 rpm redline. Power was above 12,000 what fun, earplugs needed :D

I like the wee can myself... Not sure about the front end. it's not a bike I'd buy, but then it's not a bike aimed at me, so no wonder. That tail is just gorgeus though... It looks like a Star Trek special effect :)
i hate it
It's not just me then
Makes all the other IL4 600 look a bit dated....
