View Full Version : My Front End

As i cant at the current time afford to sort out the plastics on the front end of the bike, i am going back to my old front end that i had at the start of the year, without all the gaffa tape there was. Basicly a SVS without plastics, plus because the mountings for the mirrors were way to dangerous i cut them off. As you can see i still yet dont know where the indicators will go, i will also have to find somewhere else to put the mirrors.

It was like this earlier in the year.

u are running out of choices of where to put them.

yep i am, a SVS was only ment to have them on the fairing. Some nakid mirrors should be fine. I dont want to mount them to the handle bars like the nakid, i prefer fixed mirrors.

Then i will need to mount the indicators somewhere.

I will also have to move the loom and route it the same way the nakid had it between the forks & headstock.

get the main body of the lights done Yellow, some bar end mirrors and your away...

My bike is in exactly the same state at the moment, and I kind like the way it so small... I keep thinking about going for the cafe racer look...

I might do that.

Some mock ups, crap but only with the pics i have available.
I would love the black frame with the yellow, but i will have to keep it stock with the yellow tank and rear plastics.

TSM where did all the lovely yellow plastic go anyway, you only fitted it back on mid year?

Was up on the Cat & Fiddle and crashed, damaged my back. The plastics are not to bad but i dont like things which are cracked or chipped. One side looks like it did not touch the ground but its gots a bit of gravel gashes on it, the other side has a split on the mirror part of the plastic where the front subframe twisted as it hit the barrier. Plus all the plastics at the back are stuffed & the rear subframe is twisted. Several other peices are damaged or twisted, the forks looks like they got off.

I am going to stay without any plastics & the front till i am a bit better on the cash front, then i will decide what to to.

If it was me, I'd have left the plastics on... It looks butt-ugly without 'em :( IMHO

No offence intended O:)

Well hopefully mine will be a SVS with cut down fairing and N style bars. Its just finding the time to do the work.

I did say that it will only be temporary till i am back in better funds. But whats wrong with a rat bike??

I think it will only be the front that will be stripped, not the rear.

Still have not made my mind up though.

Its Portsmouth not Tibet, put some proper miles on the bike. If I ask the wife she might even make cake... :D

Oooooh cake.

Now youre talking ;)

I've got a mate who lives in Glocester and i havnt been to see him since he had his baby. Babys 2 now

i'm very bad at doing journeys. Unless there is cake. And no rain of course

So i'll see you when the global warming gremlins have worked their magic and we have the same climate as the carribean.
By which time there will be no Portsmouth due to the raise in sea levels etc. And you will have moved to somewhere dry and away from the coast.

So basicaly i'll see you in a few years when you live just down the road from me and the Mrs has made a warehouse full of cakes to enjoy.

Ahah! Mine was like that a couple of years ago while the panel was getting sprayed. It grows on you and doesn't look half as bad in the flesh guys.
I did without mirrors and i think the indy's were up on the mirror stalks.

Maybe if the panels are toast, bite the bullet and ditch the lights but then the clocks seem too big........

Speaking of looms, you'll have problems hiding all that cable out of sight. I know, I spent several evenings trying before I settled on this - all the connectors are tucked in a small plastic case. Twinspots don't even need a change of loom, plug right in.
