Coils, check the wiring to them, possable that one of the power terminals are corroded. Also check to see that none of the wires are damaged.

Take front spark plug out and rest the thread on the engine casing way away from the spark plug hole, then turn the engine over a couple of times to see if the spark is firing, if not there is some problem with the coils/ECU/wiring.

Three things you need for the engine to run are Compression, Fuel and Sparks.

Running on one cylinder means on the dead pot one of the three things is missing. If this only happens when its wet it is highly likely to be an electrical fault as a result of water getting into a contact somewhere.

So like TSM the first place i'd be checking is whether or not you are getting a spark. :wink:

However you need to be sure you've put the bike back together as you seem to be saying since you took the bike appart, the thing wont run at all now. This could mean you've created another problem. :(

:oops: Sorry :oops: , I just saw that you did say you bike was still running on one pot after you put it back together.

If you check and find you are not getting a spark, the next thing to do would be to make sure there is power getting to the coil.

In USA, labeled as dielectric grease in every single auto parts store in the land. Mandated for plug boots on certain cars.

Comes in toothpaste tube format. Fill plug boot and smear on plug, assemble. It actually keeps water out for the long term. Also seal every other connection on bike some quiet winter afternoon.

While you are at it lube plugs with antiseize compound. I love copper based antiseize compound. Best individual item on my old RD.

People I know sufffer more from rain than bike wash, and fit small self-crafted shield over front head for rain blast. I myself do not ride in rain, prefer kayaks for rain-time ventures.

This failure mode solution is common FAQ item in many other sites.
