Found a guy through a friend at work who will re-spray my bike where he works after hours. Said it would be £250 for the lot including Ducati-esque stripe and new Suzuki laser cut decals on the tank. Does that sound like a good price?
Going for the Ducati monster style stripe - Thick centre stripe with 2 pin stripes either side, however i'm having it run through the centre as opposed to being over to the right. http://www.ducati.com/docs_eng/model05/monster/MS4R-05/images/strip.jpg
Took off all the plastics today, just got to take off the tank tomorrow and give everything a clean, then away they go :) I'll post some pictures when I get it back.

If it's an S, that's a killer price. If it's a naked, it's still pretty good- that'd depend on the quality of finish and paints used though. I've paid not much less than that to DIY my S!

Was that photo there earlier? :) If so, then that price is absolute dynamite. Assuming it's going to be of pro quality and using good quality paint, that is.

I added the pictures after, they didn't work at first so had to figure out how to do it
It's for a 2001 curvy so seems like a good deal. When it's done if the job is good i'll ask him if he wants me to pass on details, don't know how many foreigner jobs he can take without his boss getting pi**ed off :)
FYI the company makes helmets so I imagine the paint quality should be good, and he seems quite busy through recommendation so fingers crossed. Only downside is that it'll take about 3 weeks cos he can only do it after work... Watch this space

Well... It's done :)
I haven't been on the site for a while as I had a lot to do but I got the parts back and it's lookin good. I took the time to add some grill to the fairing gaps and had to make a bracket for the licence plate, which I did from scratch. very pleased with myself on that one 8)
I have it booked in for MOT tommorow so I had to take off the twin cans as they're competition use only (Bahhh!) but they'll be back on soon.
so here's some pics...

I'm very pleased with the results and the guy said he'd be happy to more jobs but "please don't post my phone number on the internet"
He's based in moreton on the wirral and if anyone wants to contact him PM me and we'll sort it out.
that looks the dogs.

I never noticed that, thought they were all the same. Maybe it's cos it's an import bike, the lenses were probably changed.

Sorry to sound like a moron but did your pal do the yellow also? If so it looks a real "deep" colour and looks excellent.

The black stripe is a tad off on the front fairing.

That's really, really nice. It's also caused me a slight change of plan :)
Some of the Euro models have one projector headlight, that's what you see there. does it not cast off to the wrong side?

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Lookin at the picture it does look a little off but I don't think its the stripe, looks to me like the rest of the bike is off centre :?

When it was imported they sorted all that out, I guess it must be right cos it passed the MOT. Mine has the slight variance from the UK models that you can have all lights off, 1 front light on or the full beam, whereas the uk models display both lights on normal beam (I think?)
FWIW i dont like the stripe down the undertray!
very cool ,not many like that (1 ??)btw where du get flush indys on front ??my fairing cracked around the mount when i dropped it,,,and they would cover the crack lovely

I got them from ebay, had a look but can't find them on there at the moment. I got them a few months ago so I would have thought they're still available somewhere. I have seen lots of different ones but these matched the rear indicators on the undertray exactly so had to have em :D
If you get flush mounts you'll probably have to cut the backs to fit, and maybe glue them to the fairing as even though these were advertised as fitting SV650s 99-02 they totally didn't!

Only because yours doesn't have one!

Gah! Maybe I'll change my plan back again then.
I don't think the stripe's squint either at the sidelight or the headlights... It does look off at the bottom but I think it's an optical illusion, the reference points that make it seem off are actually off to one side because of hte angle of the shot. But I could be wrong.

Right i'm gonna settle this once and for all! :)
[Yarodia dissapears for a minute and then returns from the rain outside with a ruler and a tape measure still in hand]
I know the truth but should I tell it?... he he
I could set up a poll?....
I could reveal the answer at the strike of midnight on chritmas morning?...
Or, oh sod it, Viney's right. Or left if you like
It seems to be mathematically correct but to look at, it is slightly to the left. Not so much that you'd notice (ahem)
even so it still rocks like a quarry :P

Absolutely. Top notch there altogether. I like the undertray. The finish looks very deep, he didnt skimp at all with the laquer.
The only thing I would say, and I suppose this is because i own a curvey, is the front end looks heavy or something. All that fairing. I dunno.
Really nice job though.
Now buy yourself a big FO lock. You just aquired the most robbable bike on the block. :(
Wahey,
Just found this post. My old bike is looking good! Great effort, couldn't have done it better myself!
Just sent you an email with some old pictures Dan.
All the best,
Damien.
p.s. Ignore Viney's comment, he's only jealous he didn't think of the stripe thing first
