OMG now feel really stupid.

Was pulling out of a side road/driveway and lost the back end.

Cold, wet tyres + wet leaves + main road on rush hour + too much choke whilst too little clutch = one lost back end and one embarrased SVer.

Yes I feel real stupid, and two pints about an hour and a half earlier make it all the more stupid!!

Anyway, lesson learnt and only a FEW scratches to myself and the bike luckily! (though my knee is really hurting - used it to stop the bike hitting the floor!)

Even managed to hit the kill switch on the way down - what's that all about?

Divvy. As soon as I got your text I reached my car keys in case I had to come and get you. Kinda autopilot mode!

Glad you're OK sunshine.

Sorry to hear another of us has bit the tarmac, tastes good eh?

Almost the same senario as mine three weeks ago. Pulling out of junction onto slippy centre section of road and the back tyre lost grip and spun around to overtake me.

Felt like a right idiot. Lid off, throw down gloves in a dramtic 'Oh bugger' jesture, tried to pick up bike...ahh, wrist has gone a funny shape. Went back to work on Tuesday, had to go back off this afternoon. Not enough healing time, and I've made it worse.

Get that knee x-rayed/checked out at least! Do it, even if it seems like nothing is wrong.

Did get the knee checked out yesterday as it really started to hurt in the morning and couldn't walk properly :crutches: . Doctors opinion is strained ligament in knee but nothing serious though luckily, just got to keep the weight off it for a day or two and no biking

Checked the bike out in daylight yesterday and can't believe how little damage there was, a scratch or two on the actual weld of the silencer so you can't really see it anyway, and a scuffed bar end.

One bonus though, chicken strip totally gone on one side now!

Cheers Cheekylemon  , perhaps you should start up your own recovery business, what with rescuing poor mrs cheekylemon last night and all. And good luck for the up-coming DAS.

Sorry to hear of your drop, Carlos! :(

Good thing the damage to bike is minimal. And good that you weren't
run over by traffic on the main road.

Two years ago I dropped my bike while parking at work. My leg got
sandwiched between the bike and tarmac but this did not result in
injury. Mrs Professor says that this is because I am fat. I guess
you also need to put on some weight to give more protection to the
old knee.

Next time you've had a few and want to ride in the rain make sure you come out and go right, then you'll look like a hero down the pub!
