I see everythings back but lots is missing oh well!
Hope everyone's fine. Forum downage had coincided with me being very busy and bike currently in bits so not doing much bike related, except playing with the bits (thats THE bits).
If anyone is out and about let me know, send me a PM or a text. I could probably bolt enough bits back on to ride it
Otherwise see evryone when the sun's out I guess (or beers are in...any news on that mooted idea?
Btw...Baldyman, what on earth is that big blue thing on your avatar?
hello...... whilst the forum was down did a couple of trips out to western for something different...
Then the bike battery died .. read sarga in the other thread... and the bike is booked for fork seals and oil on monday if I can get a battery for it by then
If I have that sorted and weather isnt horrid may go out Sunday if anyone else is interested.

What? the Blackbird you mean..........................ermmmmm, well, I didn't want to, but................well the only reason I agreed to buy it was for my wife to enjoy a comfortable pillion seat :-dd
Due to acceleration "trials" recently carried out, I have personally established that the pillion seat IS very comfortable, only challenge was that I was the only one on the bike at the time
I had a fantastic biking weekend two weeks ago. On the Sat, after much persuasion  I rode my lad's new bike down from Leeds to Swindon(SV650N K3 which is absolutely mint) That same afternoon, I picked up my "comfortable pillion" baby and then on the Sun, Iceman, me and my lad (pillion until he passes his test :( ) went up to the NEC.
Will be DEFINITELY going riding on Sunday, anyone else out and about :)

Hello chaps! Well the weather is meant to be good this weekend albeit cold. If its sunny I could be temped to put things back together and get out and about. Having said that I'm halfway through spraying some bits and a thorough strip down clean so no promises Im afraid.
Last time I went out was about three weeks ago to the Mendips and it had been really wet so the bike came back even more mingin than usual. It was second test run out with gf who seems to enjoy the experience although it has led me to find I am exceptionally heavy handed and jerky with the throttle and journeys consist of being headbutted interspersed with thinking Ive lost her off the back  What comes of riding a jerky twin solo I guess
Rideout Sunday sounds good!

Ah yes, just read the other thread. What a PIA. Anyway that'll teach you for going to Weston, no good ever comes of it...which reminds me I think I'm missing Funland..

Well, I'll be taking my fairings apart through the day tomorrow to see if I can fit the R&G bungs I bought at the NEC. So I will check this thread tomorrow night to possibly meet up.
CB9002, I could come up to Chelters first before moving westward as I never need an excuse to use the A435 :)
Ceri, what are you up to Sunday?
That sounds great Baldyman.
Has anyone heard from Nickster if she's still about?

Anyone got a route?? I have one we can try.. but its up my part of the world... we can make a day of it, or just get the route done, and then think about food afterwards!!
I can try and drag up a quick map of the route if anyones interested ??

Bring it on Valleyboy, let's get this sorted. Just bear in mind the shorter daylight avail, so an earlyish start (e.g. 1000hrs) would be sensible. That would prob mean a 0900 ish start for us CB9002 if this is the case.
Anyways, I'll check back later.
Oh and I'll PM you both my mobile.
Cheers

Well, heres a quick map of my idea of a route.. some added colours for different endings.. as I always get lost around that part of the route!
http://server3.uploadit.org/files/valleyboy-01.JPG
Just to the bottom right hand corner is the A470 which comes off the M4 around Cardiff....
If we were to do this route, I can come down and meet you lot somewhere along the M4?? Or if you feel adventurous.. I can try and direct you a bit closer

I'm out, chaps. Still in bits. It was a nice day today tho so if tomorrows anything like will be a nice autumn day.
sounds good... very early start for me to make sure battery is fitted and charged okay  !! ~ if not then I'm afraid I wont be able to make it but will let you know. :?
Is anyone from bristol area meeting up as I am liable to get lost otherwise... no jokes about women and map reading please!!

Right, for those who wish to come along... I suggest you meet up the other side of the bridge.. so those with not so good map reading abilities dont go missing  best if you come over on the M4 and turn off at Junction 32 (or 31??) which should be signed Merthyr Tydfil(I think.. or Cardiff west.. or the valleys)... (dont miss it, or you'll end up Swansea way and west Wales beckons!)
when you are going round the big bloody roundabout with shed loads of traffic lights, I think its the 3rd exit will take you to Asda's.. big and signposted.. cant miss it.. (watch the roundabout.. 3-4 lanes on it) theres a petrol station there as well... if we meet up there... the A470's a stones throw away.. this will leave us about 30 - 40 minutes from where the ride actualy starts! (probably quicker if not much traffic works about)
I suggest a meeting time of 10:00am look to make a move by 10.45 at latest.. or ASAP
So those who are interested in coming along can put their names below.. we have an inkling of numbers then... or those who are attending can text me on ******* in the morning.. or PM me before 9.30am tomorrow.
It will be an informal ride... will decide if we need markers etc depending on numbers tomorrow... if anyone turns up!

CB9002
I can either meet you in Chelters for 0900 and then meet Valleyboy in Merthyr Tydfil via Head of the Valleys for 1030 or meet you at Aust Services M48 for 0930 and then be at Jct 32 Asda for 1000
Whichever is OK by me.

Just to point out, we wont be going to Merthyr Tydfil.... its highlighted above because its signed on the junction required to get off the M4 to the A470.. before actualy getting onto the A470 is the Asda bit. Once we depart Asda, we get onto the A470 and go up towards the Valleys.
though, if you want to come the A465 (heads of the valleys), its close enough to the route... would probably be a lot easier for you.
you could carry on the heads of the valleys until you are in Hirwaun, take a left at the roundabout in Hirwaun, and stop in the Shell petrol garage.. which is the official start of the route... Though we wont be in Hirwaun until 11.10ish if we get to leave Asdas in Cardiff at 10.30 ish
I live about two minutes away from Hirwaun.. I'll be popping down to Cardiff if anyone is coming across the bridge.. if no one comes across the bridge then I can just meet you in Hirwaun.. Thats why I will need to know tomorrow morning who will be coming along etc..
I have a green Ninja.. so you wont miss me when I arrive!

Hi Valleyboy,
I've decided to meet you in Hirwaun around 11ish at the Shell garage. I maybe meeting cb9002 en route and we have each others mobiles.
Looking forward to my escorted trip (no worries about my "George flag" helmet as I've had to replace it after my accident  ) in the land of the never ending sun

The Shell garage will be on your right side.. its next to a double glazing shop called Phoenix Windows.. just park up anywhere around there, and i shall do my best to get there ontime
I suggest wearing WARM clothing, as it gets cold up on the mountains... plenty of sheep around if you want to make a fleece
looks like I wont be going anywhere.. new battery is not making any difference bike still is not starting nor making any attemps at sounding like she can
<going off to have major talking to with bike>

Well, it was cold today to say the least! Was a brilliant sunny day.. the roads were a bit damp, but that didnt matter much...
Only took three photos, as it was to cold for me to pull out my camera all the time.. so I took these photos from one viewpoint, the other side of the hill had equaly good scenery.. and you could just make out the sea from the other side.. but theres not many places to stop and take photos

Started off from Hirwaun at 11am ish... we had some grub and tea in Llandovery... LOTS of bikers out for a mid November.. then we carried on towards where the photos were taken.. some VERY nice twisty roads leading up to there...
On the way back Baldyman got a chance to open up his Blackbird... and shot off into the distance!

Well, just got in safe and sound, so the "brisk" pace worked - 101 miles in 1 hr 40
Thanks very much to Gareth for a truly excellent route.
We MUST go back in June/July time to explore the Black Mountains more, if only for the cafe in Llandovery :)
The section just prior to where he took the photos was continuous bends and an absolute giggle from start to finish. Good to meet Cavus (cb9002) hope you made dinner on time :)
Think I've fallen in love all over again, my Blackbird is absolutely staggeringly fast, agile and smoooooth. Today has given me a lot more confidence thru the twisties, thanks again Gareth (Valleyboy)
glad to hear that you all had fun... i have been having a "fun filled" day as well :? finding out the problem with the bike!!
problem found hopefully but see other thread for boring details!!
sorry I missed today the pics looked great clear view accross the valleys..not many more of those days this year

Nice day for it. I managed to get the bike on the road at about 2 and went into the mendips for an hour. A few bikes about, some SVs.
However I did find I am having trouble getting the fuel filler cap on properly (and I havent even messed with it, see other thread) and was ****ing fuel out a bit, especially after filling up. Oh well...something else to fiddle with
Yes, we must get up into those hills. Glad your bike may be fixed Anna (although havent looked at other thread yet  )
looked like a nice day for it,managed to finally get out on mine for an hour today for the first time in about 2 weeks, spent far too much time fixing me car the last couple of weekends so hope to ride out again with some of you next time.
