I have a Shark S800 and it was ok a first but since the winter weather has arrived the cold winds sneak in and i can't see for my streaming ears, need a quiet well sealed helmet that looks nice and doesn't bankrupt me.

Am thinking of an open-faced but not sure. :? :?

Open Faced...in Winter....   I wouldn't recommend it.

HJC helmets are cheap and comfy. £100 buy a nice one.

£150 is a strange price. Too high for a budget lid and too low for a quality lid. HJC are worth a punt and very reasonably priced.

If you can stretch to about £200, then the Shoei Raid 2 is excellent. You might even be able to find one slightly cheaper than that if you shop around.

I've got an Arai "SV" as a day to day commuting lid. Hein gericke £200 (was £220 but I pushed a bit hard) and it's a cracking lid for the money.

How about a KBC, came highly recommended from a good source and only £140

True.. mines not to bad.. a little noisey.. but not as bad as my Caberg.
Also get yourself a fog city, and some ear plugs, helps with the nosie and keeps the ear canal warm.

i've a HJC AC11 and it is a lovely lid in the dry, but i get water pi$$ing down the visor in the wet and it steams up even though its got some super dooper coating on the the visor. its 4 months old and i'm about to retire it for the winter and buy something else. really unhappy with it... maybe one of the carberg full face jobbies with the built in sun visor

I have a Scorpion EVO 700 and can't beat this helmet for the price. $169. I would advise getting the Aero Skirt for winter riding....keeps the cold air out and makes the helmet alot quieter.
