I'd probably go for the Shoei, but would certainly seriously consider the Shuberth too. Can you try them on somewhere and see which you prefer?

to be honest the nolan was and think it looked good, but the shuberth is quieter and the padding will mold, the shoei was nice but the medium was to small and the large was to big

Got a Schuberth S1. Not flip open, but just absolutely perfect!

I've got a Schuberth Concept - it's an excellent lid, even more so if you can get it for £200
The built in sun visor is great :D

Yes I want one and the only thing that's stopping me buy one is £350!

You have one? If so what do you think of it?

Shoei, but I'd also look at the Arai SV. Listed at about £220 but you can get them for £200. I don't fit Shoei lid's and other than an Arai the only other lid I think I'd have is an S1. At £350 it's still £50 cheaper than my Arai Astro-R Reynolds replica

I have an Arai SV. It's done well so far (1 year), but you can't change the cheek pads.

Jonboy,

Here's my posting somwhere else in this forum:

Post subject: All helmets are the same????

What a lot of rubbish. They aren't. I used to have an AGV Kinetic. OK, but the ventilation doesn't work and it pushes against your chin at speed. Now I have a Schuberth S1. OK, it's expensive. But my God, it's so comfortable! The ventilation work to demist the visor or cool your head, and there is that fantastic retractable visor. What do you do in Scotalnd when you go to work in the morning with the low sun right in your eyes, and go home in the evening in darkness? Change the visor during the day? With the S1, there is a retractable sun visor. Every helmet should have one, and to be honest I can't understand why all other brands haven't copied that. It's very quiet too. In summary, apart from the price, it's perfect!!!!

If you want a 'flip' lid, get a Caberg 'Justissimo' - I'd go for the Shoei

Thanks, that's what I wanted to hear. I have the Caberg V2 which does copy the retractable visor (which is simply brilliant) and therefore the Schuberth will be my first choice for a quality helmet with this excellent feature. I think you'll agree that once you get used to the inner visor it's not nothing you want to do without.
