I've just bought a relay for the LED inidcators, to stop them blinking too fast. It's a Motrax, and on teh package it says

" take old one out and put new one in, as simple as that"

Now where to I find the old one?

I maybe wrong...under the riders seat. Just remember that these are electonic realys and will not recognise the fact that one of your indicators isnt working, unlike the normal realy.

Isn't the battery under the rider's seat? I'll check taht 2nite.

What difference does it make if it recognises one cator is working or not?

There's loads of room under the seat. Most of the electronics is under there.
I think Viney means that when an indicator fails with a conventional relay, the loads change so the flash speed changes. With an electronic relay it won't necessary change, depending on the design.

Ah ok. Well will have a look and see if I can find them. The realy seems a lot easier than having to fit 8 resistors, yes 8. So I'll give it a chance, just feel I need them to be flashing at the right rate in the current conditions.

Thankks for your help guys

On SVs the flasher unit is combined in one unit with the starter lock-out relay, thus you can't just swap the old flasher for a different type, you'll need to leave that unit there and remove the indicator wiring from it's connector block and connect that direct to the new flasher.

It's a K4......under seat or on front? I'll have a fiddle during teh weekend, at least now I have an idea of where to look.

It certainly is combined on the K3, I will have a look at my k4 in the morning, if you want.

yes that will be helpful please....I know am 2 days late :)

I didn't really get a chance to even get near the bike this weekend and doesn't look like next weekend is gonna be any good either. I may just take her down to the dealership.

Why bother with the relay?

My led cators flash nice and fast and pass the MOT at the rate they flash at. Personally i think the fast blinking cathches the eye more too.

But thats just me.

I'm not too bothered with it either Spidey, MOT is the least of my concerns, she is only 13 months old and I will be changing bikes next spring. But I've had a few ppl tell me it's not visible, specially at the front, Roca built into the lights mod, and it flashes so quick that it's not visible at all. The rear is also built into the rear lights and is not very visible as it is. Anyway I have the biuts now so might as well put em on.
