FIAMM i think are nicer, twin high/low fitted behind the fairing on the radiator mounts.. The magnum has a higher notes.

as what TSM says.

to be honest, my standard CBR horn wasnt much different on volume to the magnum horn, just sounds more like an airhorn than a bike horn.

and its quite a bit bigger too.

but for 9.99 cant really complain.

What ^^^^ Say, however, it not a fact of just replacing. You will need to put a relay in to activate the horns. If you go to the main sv650.org site and aheva look in the how to sections, its all in there. Twin FIAMMS are great fun, very loud and do the job.

I used the twin FIAMM snail-horns... Dead easy to fit on a carbed S, I just bolted them to the radiator, chopped out the old horn, put the relay in the hole, wired the horns into my "aftermarket stuff" loom, sorted. I'm vaguely considering fitting another couple somewhere, just for a laugh. They're not the loudest but they're so dissonant that they really get people's attention.

think ill go to halfords then ,and get they ones ,ive read/seen the guide on the main site thats what made me consider doing it ,it looks pretty straightforward(famous last words) :D ive got a curvy s so i can hide them in the fairing gao ,cheers all ...off to halfwits now

They do the horns in diffrent bits or kits. I did not see the kit and bought the horns seperate and cost a bit more. Buy the kit and i think it comes with all the wiring & relay needed to fit to the bike.

Jim, either get the Ring fitting kit, or buy 2 rolls of decent-rated cable and a terminal crimp set. (kit's cheaper but the cables are all funny lengths, while the crimp kit is a useful thing to own in general, and will save you a lot of solvering and monkeying about.

I'll see if I can get some pics, the fairings are off mine just now so I should be able to get a nice shot.

look on the FAQ on the main part of the SV site. rictus did a little doc showing how you need to bend the metal bars so they allow for the movement of the forks.

Eh, sorry, I'll upload 'em tomorrow, seem to have lost my camera

The horns are quite discrete. Look just above the radiator.
ps. (yes the bike is in a bit of a state at the moment)

None of my shots came out well at all, too little light. But it's dead easy anyhow... I made my own brackets since I lost the FIAMM ones, but they're just a wee bit of bent ally. One bolt into the top of the radiator on each side, and the horns have a wee stud on the back so i jsut stuck a nyloc nut on that, job's a good 'un. Just took a couple of tris to get the fit just right.

On a note of the brackets, make sure that when you have the fairing on that the forks dont touch the horns, it does come very close, about 1-2cm.

Also dont bend the metal too much as it will snap with the vibration of the frame.

One of my horns broke off while i was on the motorway in europe and i did not notice as i had a tank bag on, and when i came into the petrol station i suddenly found that i could not get much turn on to the right as the horn was hanging from its wires stopping the forks turning fully.

I replaced them when i got to my dads with proper steal so the same would not happen again.

A little tip, the back of the horns (the red cap), was not a very good fit on mine and rattled making the horn sound odd. I just used superglue and joined it together with the main part of the horn and now they seem louder and clearer.

I was also thinking why bother removing the old horn, why not join it in with the other horns.

I'd've kept mine on but with teh front end swap I'd nowhere to put it... And I'd un out of time to make a bracket so I disconnected it for a few days and got the FIAMMs. And then I lost it.
