On Thursday night my step son was returning from Macy Dee's at 8.30 at night. (location - A610 Ripley Derbyshire, Road conditions - cold slightly slippery) He rides an NRG50 as he is 16, While turning right at the roundabout he was 3 parts the way round, when a car approached at speed from his left, the car never slowed! As my step son straightened up to leave the rounadabout, the car struck him at the rear of his bike forcing him off into the middle of the road and his bike into the gutter. the car hurtled in between my star shaped son & his bike. The car slowed for a moment, then wheel span off.
Joe only received a grazed hip, treated by some v.nice ambulance people and dented faith in humanity.
Bike - NRG, what do you expect, shattered plastic amondo!
No reliable whitnesses to identify the car.
The driver has no idea what state Joe is in, wether bruised, broken or dead. The crash was right outside 'A' division police headquaters so help was there virtually instantly, (thank god)
What kind of people are out there??
Watch out!!! it could be you!!!
Car - purplish vaxhaull Tigra, new model, sporty, Idiot on board
You have been warned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
**** one!
Any CCTV (being near a Police station and all).
The nightmare scenario - I hope your step son gets better soon and is back on a bike quick. 8)

Ruddy hell,
glad he is ok, the dipstick will get what's comming to him, Karma will sort that ok.
Check to see if there was any CCTV footage, I would be supprised, if there is no CCTV surrounding the police station as there was a time that it was SOP to watch the general area arround a station.
I would suggest contacting the local paper and see if you can get something in the press, mainly just so that either you can work out who this person was, someone might rat them in.
Worth a shot?
Cheers
Rich
That is apalling, hope they find the idiot in the car. Glad to hear your lad's ok though.

one word scum. so u did not even get a partical index :?:
hope the young fella heals soon.
That's awful :(
Some people absolutely disgust and infuriate me. It's also quite scarey... This sort of person could take you out and leave you for dead and if no-one else is around who's going to help? :(
Glad he's ok and I hope this incident doesn't discourage him from getting back on 2 wheels.

damn!
how can someone run from a accident like that?!? They must be sitting at home wondering if they have just killed someone!!
You say it was a new shape purple Tigra, there can't be that many of them in the area!!! I hope the police catch him and nail him to a wall by his scrotum.
Hope your nephew is feeling better and thinking about his next bike!!!

I very much doubt hes even giving a second thought, let alone it being his car so even if the old bill match the car I bet you will hear "Got nicked lastnight m8"
P.s thats if it was a he.
Glad he's OK. Hope you catch the g*t...

Good idea about story in the local rag.The car would have some damage on it so you might get someone to identify it.It's a pity the Police don't take this sort of thing more seriously as I believe a proper investigation could often get a result.A crime number and stick it in the file never solved anything.
thats a nightmare... sorry to hear that. the same kind of thing happened to a friend of mine.. there really are some t055ers out there...

I like the idea of the story in the local rag, cheers rich,
I think Joe will get back on his bike alright, but won't know untill its back in one piece, It's a confidence thing.
I'm sure justice will be done one way or another, in this world or the next,
Cheers everyone

Emm. Yeah, seriously I would be thinking woman here. How many blokes drive Tigras... that are purple?? Those things are actually mad slow, I destroyed a Tigra on an RXS 100 when I was a yunglfa.
I wonder would it be a total waste of drop over to the bigger vaux. dealerships, and ask them about people inquireing about purple tigra panels, explaining your situation.

Thanks people :)
Joe is now back on the road :D
So it didn't take him long to get his confidence back
No real harm done in the end, but it could have been worse
still no excuse for not stopping.
Just dont forget " youre riding through a sea of blind idiots "
cheers John
Just dont forget " youre riding through a sea of blind idiots "
Those are the exact words i told my son.
Glad things are working themselves out for you both, it really could have been so much worse, it really pi55es me off that to55ers like that seem to sail through life without a care in the world for anyone or anything & seem to get everything fall into their laps, i hope that one day soon you find the person that was responsible prefferably before the police do.

same thing happened to me 30 years ago. don,t forget to claim from the uninsured driver scheme. a good solicitor will be able to help. 2 friends of mine who have been knocked of their bicycles have claimed successfully. oh, by the way, i hope whoever it was, that their balls drop off and roll down a f****ng deep grid
