Can anyone recommend a decent school for the above :?: I'm looking at perhaps doing a few track days next season but want to get some track training first

I did the Ron Haslam school at Donington earlier this year and had a fantastic time. It was my first time on a track and I found it really well organised and the kit was first class. I would have liked a little more track time but I thought overall it was great value for money. It was £250 for the Premier Package on CBR600RR's. Turn up in your undies, everything is provided.

I've heard nothing but praise for the Californian Superbike School - I'm tempted to book one up.

The Ron Haslam school seems pretty good too. I booked a Niall MacKenzie day a couple of summers back (which runs along side the Haslam school) - in 2 hours he took the 3 of us from good novice to middle of the advanced group - although I'm strictly intermediate on most circuits now. I couldn't believe how fast we got, but he was very gradual and he didn't even change gear (or use the brakes) to keep up with the advanced group - he was on a standard GSXR 1000 as well. Fantastic day.

I got whooped twice today, once by the helicopter and then was whooped even faster by Thomas Luthi who was out on track with us.

This is my second level 1 and I still learnt from it. I did Level 2 last year on my old SV.

Everyone starts at Level 1, even Leon Camier and Thomas Luthi before progressing through 2 & 3 to Level 4

I'd love to do the CSS... But they dropped their plans to bring it back to Knockhill, I hear. :(

I am considering doing on of hottrax's "academy" days:

I've done a few trackdays with them & they seem like a good bunch; I had an instructor for one of the sessions on the last one I went to (Donington last week) & I got a lot out of it

I did the Ron haslam race school last Wednesday in preparation for at track day at Brands Hatch on the Friday.
The Ron Haslam school was well worth it, had a great time and picked up some good tips and confidence!!
When the time came for my first track day round Brands, there was no nerves, and i even felt confident about being one of the least experienced there on the slowest bike, but as it turned out i had a great day, and was one of the fastest in my group despite being on the SV when others were on R1's GSXR 1000 etc!! guess they just didn't know how to use them properly, one guy had had his gsxr1000 for 6 weeks and ended up taking it home with one side ripped off after throwing it down the track!!
The Ron Haslam school was well worth it, only down side it you only get 3 x 15 minute sessions on the track for £260!!

Wheelnut - that's me in the last photo sitting at the table facing the camera - I was in yellow group No.25. Where did you get the photo's from.

Paul, I will check the CD I bought to see if there are any more pics of you. I bought the Picman CD and got a few free photos thrown in I think.

The lad in my group who shared my instructor was also Paul who won the most improved rider. He was on a new GSXR 750
