Hello all,

I'm currently contemplating selling my SV

Build costs on my house renovation are spiralling and the extra few grand may just be the difference between a finished house and no house.

Anyways, thats the reason for selling.

Bike is a K5, 05 plate SV650S in Black with all the Gucci kit - Suzuki OEM Belly Pan, Hugger and Seal Cowl, Pyramid Undertray and Fender Extender. All original parts included and still in original packaging.

If you like Black - you'll love it!

Superb condition - only 2215 dry miles - Full Suzuki Service History (George Whites - Slough) - Always garaged and looked after.

So come on everyone - please give opinions on an asking price - i've never sold a bike before - only part ex'd my last curvy SV (for this new one!).

Cheers in advance,

Dan

Sold to the man in blue!

Thanks for your input - i'd like a few opinions - then i'll take the mean average and stick it on Bike Trader & possibly eBay...

I'd say that sounds about right.

btw - forgot to add that i'd rather sell it to someone on here who will look after it.

And also it'll save me any listing costs ;)

Seems like a reasonable price to me, but you may find it harder to sell at this time of year. :?

Understood about the time of year thing. What sort of drop would it be - a couple of hundred quid or more like 500?

TBH it's depends how soon you want to sell the bike, if you want a quick sale you will need a price to reflect that, ie £3500 for quick sale NO time wasters. but if you can wait a little while then put the price up to what u feel it's worth ie £3800- £4000 & see what kind of feedback/offers you get.

if i were u i would put the price high & be prepared to come down a few hundred. you can always come down in price, but it will be tricky trying to push it up.

Why would anyone spend more than £3500 on a second hand bike when they can get a new one for £4000ish on 0% finance :?

Wish you luck in selling.

I'm selling the Hornet. I did market research - prices range from £2,850 to £3,850 for the same reg as mine, depends on condition, mileage and private/dealer. Mine's in excellent nick, 12,500 miles - it's 03 reg, I was asking £3,200ono, which looked about right from my market trawl.

However trying to sell a bike in cold and wet December is not easy, particularly as there are 0% deals on new ones around. I would come down but I'm not desperate to sell and I won't sell for silly money for the sake of a few months.

You cant get a new black one though, K6's come in silver ( that looks blue ), blue and red...

If somebody wants a black one badly enough it'll sell....

I've been trying to sell a 2004 Aprilia Falco in mint condition since September, it's got all the right bits added on, absolutely no interest, well apart from the fraudsters. It's sat in my garage gathering dust for now!
It is just the wrong time of year, people are more interested in Christmas. If you hold off until the end of January you will get much more interest and a better price.
For some guidance last year I sold a 12 month old SV650s with lowers, new tyres, road legal can plus all originals, done 5000 miles for £3250
Good luck with the sale but I think you will be better waiting.

I tried to sell my pointy 04 SV which I thought was a reasonable price ( £3100 ) and I received precisely........

zero calls

Its a bad time of year to sell a bike unless your selling it at bargain basement prices. Personally id buy a bucket for the whole in the roof!

I have been offered a brand new bike, from a dealer, for £3900. Not saying who as it was a "personal" price, but I can't be the only one who can deals like this.

You may have all the extras added, but IMO it would be better to put it back to stock and sell the bits on here.

There is no stock of black bikes in either model and Suzuki have decided that the K6 will not come in what has proved to be the most popular colour for naked or faired versions. So, if somebody really wanted a black one then they may pay a little more.

Personally, if you want to move it on, I think you'll need to lose £500 off of that figure.

I personally think Suzuki are as mad as a box of frogs for not offering the K6 in black.. after having seen the K6 colours in the flesh I dont like any of them

apparently though the are doing the K6 SV1000 in black according to the boss of my local dealer...

£3,700 is giving it away, but its about right...

I got £3,000 for my (returned to standard) silver SV...

I know, I told the sales manager to put the brochure away as I cant afford it, I am sorely tempted though

Hey I got a call about my bike last night. No it wasn't a buyer. Some finance agency in London - bear in mind I only advertised it locally, paper has a circulation in Shropshire and mid-Wales only - saying that they arranged finance for people who wanted to buy bikes and we'll put your details on our database of bikes available etc etc etc - no thank you.... didn't catch their name, number was 02083436652.

Cheers for all the input guys.

I didn't know they'd stopped producing them in Black - no dealers around here have them left in black either so i reckon thats my angle...

"Get yourself a mint, Black SV - rare as Xbox 360's this Xmas!"

Like i said - i'd prefer someone on here to have it - any interest?
