Once again I have a GSXR shock for sale. Every time I have one of these and want to fit it, I'm desperate for money, so it looks like I'm going to have to wait till the summer to sort my bike out.

It's in good condition and claimed to have only done a couple of thousand miles. There are a couple of scratches on the spring, but they do look like they've been made when somebody was attempting to fit it. Which is what the guy who sold it to me said they were from.

First person to offer me above £40 + p&p can have it, or it goes on ebay on Wednesday.

I don't think it'll be any good for yours. Pointies only, I'm afraid. It's virtually a direct swap for them.

I know it's been down, but there were alot of views. Was just bumping it.

Isn't the spring rate completely wrong for the SV? I guess the adantage of having it it fitted is that there is better damping control? How does one of these shocks compare to a Maxton/Hagon jobbie? Are any mods required to fit it?

Sorry for all the Q's! :D

The spring rate is apparently just right for anybody over about 11st. There are many who've done this mod.
I couldn't compare it to any other shock because I've never ridden it with this or any other fitted. I think the general consensus is that for most road use a gsxr shock just gives you the extra adjustment and quality most of us need. A specialist unit will improve things much more and give you even more room for adjustment but the 10x price makes it a luxury for most.
To fit it you need to cut the corner off of the battery box and pad the box to bring the battery a little higher. The seat goes on fine after that and there are no problems with the mod that I've heard of.

Cheers.
