My parents house, keep it here because I have a garage! Upgraded from the ninja and it's still under £500 tpft for a 21 year old with 1ncb :) On a restricted license *cough*
Erm, it's a 2000 mode, came with original exhausts but I couldn't take them with me (bloody heavy!!) 17k miles, 3 previous owners, FSH (some diy) £1900 on ebay. As it standas at the moment, it's far too loud even for a vtwin lover like me, so I do need to swap them for something with removeable baffles. It get's EVERYONE'S attention in the city centre. You just can't ride the thing quietly. :D
It's comfy, aye, sometimes I do think "ouch, my wrists" but then I sit more upright and I'm fine. Fine on the 1 hour commute in the mornings, absolutely no bother! Mpg is probably around 42mpg and thats because I am a reasonably cautious rider. I prefer to bimble but when I want power, I want lots of it (hence why I sold the sv ;))
Yes, you can have it. For a fee ;) Not that it's for sale or anything!!!

Instigator...I dont know what book price is but I would have been dead happy paying that price for it. It looks great, the black suits it so well. A very under estimated bike you have there and with a 1000cc motor that is only just about loosening up. Get the tyres and suspension sorted to yourself and you will have miles of smiles! :) Ok so tank range isn't brill but when is it ever on a Vee? Enjoy my friend!

4th bike from ebay  Only travelled from glasgow to hull this time!
The engine is lovely and it's actually a lot lighter than I thought it would be. Quite thing too, the zx6r is a whale compared to it. Headlight is diabolical but apart from that, I'm very happy with it.
The suspension and tyres at the moment are as good as I need, I have literally jsut finished removing the stickers off it, now it's jsut plain black. The red/purple fairing bolts will be replaced with standard black/silver ones and the iridium screen will be replaced with a tinted Db screen. :)

Hey I've seen that art deco garage door before I'm sure! :) :)

There's always one that mentions the garage door. You come up and paint it!!
The ninja is a zx6r, tried to sell it but I know I'd only lose money on it. Going to try and keep it and add it to my insurance company. Nice bikes for a 'skint' student.
As much as I like the vtwin, I'd use the zx6r for the days when the weather is a bit cr*p or when I feel the need for red lining the engine (find it more satisfying on an IL4)

What's a realistic price for the kwak then?
instigator
17-12-05, 07:18 PM
I bought it for £1800 (2000 zx6r, 13k miles on the clock - you HAVE to love ebay :D)
I wanted £2200 for it in winter, but that'll rise another £300 minimum when spring/summer comes. And at £2500, it'd still be cheap!

How would you like a garage choc full of black V-twins?
£1800 you say---rubs chin thoughtfully---Mmmm.
the zx6r a whale next to it?...the storm 20kg's heavier than a 2000 zx6 and they are both 28 inch wide..more or less same specs...lol, think the tank is much slimmr tho...like the tank range...
instigator

The zx feels like much more of a whale than the storm, the storm is much more manageable, well at least when pushing it around.
The fairings do stick out like a sore thumb on the zx hence the whale comments.
Still, both great bikes in their own ways of course zxman, I won't challenge the zx6r's greatness
Best thing about storms ar the ease of the front wheel lifting. Good wheelie machine. Mates got an orange one. I just dont seem to fit on hondas, even the pans feel uncomfy to me...kwak man through and through :D
