Hi folks.

Here is a product that looks ideal for use with a bullet camera for onboard video  . It's marketed for Playstation Portable owners, but works with PCs, PDAs & plain old TVs too.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000CBP0IE/202-9190228-5606219

Specifications state it works from 110/240v AD/DC but what they mean is that it runs from an adapter. Just like the good old mobile phone etc, the manufacturer says only to use theirs! Looking at the manual, it turns out that the unit runs on 5vDC and so could be wired using an adapter of some kind.

Manual here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000CBP0IE/202-9190228-5606219

Looks like an interesting option - Tie Wrapped to the underside of the pillion seat or popped in a tank bag etc, etc.

Cheers,
Garry

only problem i can spot is the fact it needs to be connected to a scree nso you can set it to record and the format and compression you need.

so if you have a mini tv as well hidden in the topbox then perhaps it would be of some use.

however the amount of video per gig is not listed and i could see it getting expensive with CF / SD Cards.

i still think a cheap DV camcorder would be the best option for bike work

This is what you really want. All digital, very compact, and HARDDRIVE recording.

plus this

It's just *a little* more expensive... :D

I have had the Archos 420 for over a year - tiny portable hard drive recorder with 4 inch screen - its just the dogs nuts, and have used it with a bullet cam ( watching the exhaust on a 480hp 200sx! )
Around the £250 mark, but it will serve you well, it comes with an array of accessories.
