I’v become a big softy over the last couple of months

I used to ride every day of the year what ever the weather, but lately just once or twice a week. How often does the
average SV,er get out and about in the winter ?

This winter, hardly at all. I haven't needed to. I've made a few cross country journies, one of them 2 up, but other than it's been standing idle.

Daily as I commute on the SV. It was a little chilly this morning, thank the lord for heated grips.

I used to ride almost every day during the winter, but now I'm tending to use the car if I'm going anywhere at weekends and just commute by bike during the week.

Every day except when I've got a bit too enthusiastic with the taking-apart and a bit less enthusiasm for the putting-together ;)

Only after the sun has shone at atleast 20°C on 10 consecutive days following a torrential downpour to wash away the salt and cr@p off the road.

I'm on it every day.. no matter the weather, rain, snow, roof tiles... cold or hots.. windy or not. 130 miles every day, and we both look rather worse for it...

Though this winter has been rather easy so far, though a little cold at times (touch wood).... my biggest problem has been electrical faults.

My wife has been most accommodating recently, therefore I ride most days.

Most days for local stuff and work but I don't do much distance over winter.

I commute anywhere and everywhere on it. Maybe I should come up with an alternative for those icy days when the council decide not to grit the roads. I am seriously considering cycling everywhere instead, it's a lot less hassle. Four wheels haven't come in to the equation yet, but it's probably only a matter of time.

Most days,

have a commute to do, but in the last cold spell especially this morning it was well into the minus temperature and an extra hour in bed with central heating won today

what kate, tommo and ward said.

btw, i went on the tube today (yeah, i know   ) - return ticket inside zone 1 = £6! not only is commuting by bike waaaaaaaaaaay more fun, but it's so much cheaper than tubes.

Daily commute. I'd never head off for work in snow, but have had to come home in it a coupla times. I suffer from cold hands and feet, but the oxford grips just about keep me going for my 20 min blast down the A40.

As long as I can punch a hole through the snow stacked up against the garage door...I am out there! 8)

I used to ride every day all year come rain snow sleet or high winds, once road six miles through heavy snow with no gloves just to see my then girlfriend, got there & couldn't let go of the bars & was physically sick.
Now we ride on bright or dry days only but don't worry about the temperature.
