No one reads our HoD's 'news page'

Is there a way folks can recieve an email notification if they subscribe when a fresh page has been uploaded to our server by me?

I don't know what I'm talking about here really, I just do editorial stuff on our site but was waodering. I use Dreamweaver MX and think out stuffs on an Apache server if that helps. I doubt it runs PhP....if thats required. May run SQGGQGQLQ....thing.

Perhaps someone who knows what they are talking about will understand what I'm thinking about

There are a variety of ways you could do it.
How much control of the server do you have? If a fair amount and you have the ability to run your own programs on the machine then you could either setup a cron job to run every day or so to check for a new page and send a premade email or you could have a program you run when you upload a page, or you could just save an email on your machine with all the recipients filled in and just send it everytime.

Why not just init a page that sends out a link to everyone? much easier.

It is possible, but i would recommend that you either do whats mentioned above, and save an email with all the recipients on, or ask someone from the development department to build you a tool of some sort.
This is an easy thing to do if you have development knowledge, but perhaps a wee bit hard if your main job is content editor and you lack the technical skills.
Hassle the developers, thats what they get paid for!
