Anyone riding about on the road (on their SV...snigger snigger) with Moto X boots on. Any real problems apart from looking abit odd? Want boots for both, any reccomendations.
I have Sidi motocross boots and wear these on the SV all the time.
Problems. They are rigid as in the sole does not flex at all. This is because it has a metal plate that runs all the way through the sole. Also they are very thick leather that does not give anywhere near as much as normal boots. This means that you will struggle to feel the gear shift lever when changing up and down the box. Same goes for the rear brake lever.
I struggled for a while to ride smoothly. I kept missing gears and when I put my foot on the rear brake, either missed it or locked the rear wheel.
I have now been riding in them for a fair few months and have adapted my riding. Now I have no problem with them.
As for looking odd. Personally I think they look cool. Especially when your riding a naked bike with unique person touches to it.
My next boots will be Alpine Stars Moto X boots as I want maximum protection and am prepared to sacrifice usability and ease, though BigApe has confirmed what I reckoned in that after a few weeks you'll get used to them.
They'll also be excellent for a little um revenge should some malicious car driver decide to wage war...

I've got Diadora MX3 Motocross Boots...

But obviously, that was on the 950 SM... Dunno if I'd wear 'em on an SV though
These maybe for sale if the 950SM thing gets resolved [-o<
Euro 45 (UK 10.5)
i wear my fox mx boots all time on naked sv. who cares what others think, if you like em wear em. :D can feel a little cucumbersome at first due to much thicker leather, stronger sole but offer top protection. :)

Ended up buying SIDI Corsair Vertigo at the bike shoe today. No moto x boots on sale and a good saving on the Corsairs.
