View Full Version : Chain - Endless or riveted???????
A recent post discussed chain life. I'm coming to the end of my chain life at 18000 miles. The question is: do I go to the trouble of removing the swinging arm and suspension likage to fit it an endless chain (hard work, but you can grease the pivot points whilst apart), or do I take the easy option, ie a riveted chain :?:

I don't know but a scottoiler will make either option last much longer and is easier to fit than the swingarm.
Up to you.
If you can be bothered to do the strip and grease job, do it, otherwise there is no problem with rivetted chains.

I'd use a rivet link for preference, but if your bike is a couple of years, (or more), old then it's about time you had the back end of for a greasing anyway.
