about a year ago, i tested many different wax's availible on my bike to see which one gave the best shine :)

i used about 4 different brands, and autoglym super resin polish beat the likes of turtle wax, crystal glo polish ect ect

however, i ran out of autoglym today, so while waiting for my bike to be fixed at the stealers, i went into a car shop to get some autoglym.

while i was there, i noticed lots of brands i had never seen before, (even some swiss stuff that cost 250 quid).

i asked the lady who worked there which one she recommended for the shiniest shines. and she gave me this bottle http://meguiars.com/estore/product_detailpage.cfm?sku=G7016

ok, i bought it, at 12 quid i thought it better be good.
got home and opened the box, came with a bottle of wax and an application pad,

tried it on my bike, and was totally blown away with the results. it wasnt this shiny out of the show room.

previously when ive used wax, ive got a little bit on the dash and seat and its left a horrible white mark, this time. when i got a bit on my seat, i rubbed it off, and it came up shiny as anything.
so i proceeded to use it on everyhitng, headlights, mirrors, iridum screen (thats a bugger for polishing) metalwork (everything apart from brake discs)

it polished straight off and bought out a shine that i have never seen before.

as you can tell - im very pleased with the product, well worth trying out if your into your cleaning :)

btw, i dont work for this company . .. just very pleased with the results :):):)

This container is refilled for life at no charge

Would have to do one heck of a lot of polishing to make it worthwhile!

It all looks the same with 4 months of road grime on it ;) These waxes are amazing, but they're really for the compulsive cleaner who doesn't ride or drive in the rain (or for show use or detailing contests). IMO. Until combined with a dirt-repelling forcefield they're a waste of time and money for most riders.

Had a look at the website and will probably try it out for use on the car as well.

After many years of sampling various polishes, the 2 I have found to be the best are:
CarPlan - Triple Wax and Turtle Wax - Gloss Gaurd.

Whenever I buy a car I give it the works, starting with Auto Glym Renovater which has a slight cut (although any would do) then a coat of the Triple Wax and then the Gloss Gaurd to seal it all in.
After that all it needs is a wash and chamois once a week with Turtle Wash and Wax.

I have images now of the next post from Bikeage detailing his injuries (all minor of course) after flying off his bike at the first corner - slipping off his shiney seat and unable to hold onto his shiney grips!

And as for the brake discs - it would be the glossiest looking wreck that's for sure!

Strange but a hint of familiarity strikes me over your comment! :? :)

you get free refills, so if you polished a couple of times a day (or you have a valeting seervice) it could work out to be cheaper than Turtle Wax in the very long run!

Maybe if we all chip in a couple of quid and then ask for 200 refills?

The polish and wax market is massive - theres so many products out there its easy to get confused with what does what. I used MER polish on the bike previously but its silicone based, whereas the more expensive stuff is carnauba wax based. A lot of people rate the Meguiars range and its something ive considered to use on the Mazda too as its black and the shine is immense when its freshly polished - its just keeping black clean which is the problem.

Ideally it should be polished then followed with wax to get a seal. Meguiars also do a 3 step range which is supposed to be the bees knees. Theyre reasonably priced too.

I vividly remember a former boss who picked his ears with a biro and inspected it before screwing into a ball and throwing it across the room.

I'm pretty sure that MER has carnauba in it.

MER i think is polish rather than wax, therefore it doesnt contain any wax properties. Ideal to apply before wax - i guess that meguiars stuff after a coat of MER would do the world of good. I might buy some meguiars and see what the results are like. Im looking for a good wet look shine
