View Full Version : Front wheel bearings - £50 fitted at Hamilton MC

Just thought I'd post about more great service at Hamilton Motorcycles. With help from Jim and Rab (scooby), we figured out the twitchy bar problem and funny clunking noises were due to a knackered front wheel bearing.

We considered doing it ourselves with the parts only costing about £30 but Hamilton only charged me another £20 labour and the front is sorted. I rode in at 9:30 and had the bike back by 12! The mechanic said it was the worst bearing he had ever seen, chewed up beyound belief and pretty dangerous to be riding on! Pretty poor after 13k miles!

So anyone looking for quick cheap repairs, it's the place to go.

Very good price that... Most places would charge as much if you took them the wheel seperate.

Andy - I was expecting nearer £100 for ride-in repair so well chuffed at half that price. We were talking about maybe borrowing your bearing removal tool and doing it ourselfs, so you'll be happy to hear there's no need now.

And aye Jim, that's it totally sorted now. Now just need some dry roads and I'll be grinding toes again in no time. Thanks again for your help. Was a good day out into the bargin.

I don't have a bearing removal tool, I've got a big hammer and an old blunt chisel ;)
