I'm thinking of getting a GSXR rear shock as an upgrade for my K3. However, being concerned about spring rates and damping range etc. I'm thinking of getting one from www.svraceshop.com as they will provide one setup for the SV.

I've swapped a few emails with them and they seem friendly and well informed.

Anyone had any experience with them?

On the same topic, how easy is it to adjust the preload and damping on the GSXR shock when it is fitted? Is it as easy as with the standard shock?

Ta,

Interesting one this. They did have a great rep, but there's been loads of rumours- well, more than rumours really- of problems with them recently. Max McAllister of Traxxion took a couple of their shocks to bits and found that one wasn't rebuilt as described, (sold as having a gold valve, didn't) and another was basically unsafe and terribly set up. FWIW I've found them generally good to deal with, but the jury's really out just now. Lots of stuff on SV Rider about this recently...

If you are in Bristol why not just send it to Steve Jordan Motorcycles? I know of a couple of GSXR shocks Steve has converted for race use in the MiniTwins so I'm sure he could sort one for you.

Mike,

Didn't realise anyone in the UK did this. I'll drop him a line.

Thanks,
