View Full Version : Recomend me a holiday destination
So many countries, so little time!!
I am desperatly in need of a holiday. Probably around early April.
I dont mind going to somewhere like Tenerfiffe as i know what im gonna get, but thats a bit, been there done that. So the criteria are
Close'ish (3 hours flight)
Warm (15 degs upwards)
Got a beach
Got somewhere else to go other than a beach
Reasonable food
Cheapish
Isnt France
Not a huge hotel with millions of chavs/kids/drunken people

What about Southern Italy or Greece? I'd imagine that temperatures would be OK there at that time of year.
Or maybe you could visit Pedro in Spain.

Croatia (although go a bit later)
Corfu
Crete (hire a bike)
Morrocco, go south of the atlas, beach everywhere you look.
Look for deals on www.explore.co.uk.
Consider:
Spain: Majorca, Canary Islands, Costa Blanca
Cyprus?
Italy: not really one for a beach holiday, but could be warm!
If you want something warm, you may have to go further than 3 hours in April; and that may not be so cheap.
I'm sure Ricardo can recommend something in Portugal too.

Definitely... temperatures ok (16ºC here today), fits your flight time, and it should be cheap enough for you. Dunno about beach in April around here, though...
Corfu is a stunning little island for a trip away. Scooters at the ready lol.
I'd say any of the greek islands..
What about Rome? Bit of a drive to the beaches, but a stunning place.
Hmmm, Portugal cold be on the the list. Another place im looking at is Olu Deniz in Turkey. Anyone been there?

Menorca is a great little Island too, and often overlooked.
Corsica is very nice, and it's a cross between France & Italy. Very green and very nice people.
Cyprus is a little off the flight time but lovely none the less, most people speak English, drive on the left, and the weather's cracking. Hire a car and take a drive into the mountains or visit one of the many isolated beaches...
(I like Islands, does it show ? )

Not sure what Bulgarias like but my parents went there last year and came back with a tan so it must be reasonably warm.

Agreed, loads to see if you don't just want a 'sunshine holiday', Morocco too.
Corsica is very nice, and it's a cross between France & Italy. Very green and very nice people.
But you'll need your bike if you really want to enjoy Corsica, it's one of the best biking destinations in Europe.

I was only there for a brief visit but from what I saw of it I'd have to agree with you. It's all small twisty roads up into the green hills... Supermoto would be a good choice me thinks...
