Good evening everyone :D - I've been reading this forum for a couple of weeks now and have finally managed to cease giggling, chuckling and guffawing for long enough to do the decent thing and make an honest man of myself by registering.

Initially, I was driven to searching out info about a bit of a snag in my gearbox - third gear would appear to have gone awol!! As I don't have the garage facilities required or a large enough kitchen, the poor machine is now layed up at the dealers awaiting word from Mr Suzuki which sounds a bit expensive :reaper: to me...but hey..there's the rub. It's gotta be fixed somehow. In the meantime the shop have been kind  enough to lend me a GS500 :laughat: for transport - nicely restricted, and has managed to do half the mileage of my SV - I had to get off and push it up a hill the other day - it has had the effect of making me appreciate what I have (or perhaps 'had' is more appropriate).

Anyway - here I am - when I have found a picture/item worthy enough I shall do the avatar thing - standards look quite high here!! Hope to contribute to some of the light hearted banter in due course :D :D

Hmmm - Biker Biggles from Barnet - originally from the screaming metropolis of Berkhamsted myself - last time I went back there, I discovered that everyone had moved out because of huge market influences on house prices - apparently. :?

Sadly not - it's an 03 plate - had it from new, regularly serviced etc etc - the bog standard suzi warranty expired after 12 months - so the workshop are now waiting to hear from suzuki before they break out the scalpels, pliers and sledge hammers!!

Welcome. I like the copper coloured SV's (seem to be a bit of a minority on that one). Hope you get your gear problem sorted out.

Cheers, Keith

Many thanks y'all - yes - fingers crossed. What I am still amazed by is all your great avatars - is there somebody out there selling them to eneryone or what? Perhaps if I root around inside the hard drive I'll locate something suitable.... :-k

I grew up in Plymouth. You know, I think I've seen you there! Copper SV1000? Plymstock? Could be you.

Could be - but mine's only a 650   . Thanks for the warm welcome though!!
All I know about the defect at the moment is that the selector selects third - but there's nothing there - just air I guess :? Once suzuki pull their finger out everything should be fine and dandy - 'cept perhaps the bank balance [-o<
