Like him, Hate him. The Marmite presenter of all time, but why is he loathed by so many?

Because he's an arrogant obnoxious to55er.

I do think he's a ****, but I also find him to be entertaining.

i like him.

he's consistant, speaks his mind. i dont agree with most of his view points but hey ho, never mind.

as a sweeping statement i'd say the reason most people dont like him on here is cos he doesn't like or have much time for motorbikes.

Overall, I like him. I think he is extremely good at what he does and is pretty funny to. A complete child who just hasn't grown up doing what he loves. What a job.

Wouldn't it be dull if we all liked the same stuff? Huh? Wouldn't it?

I am with Scoobs on this,(which in itself is rather concerning!) rather JC than some "PC" type presenter. His role is not to tell you what you want to hear but to provoke reaction and discussion. Many of his comments are to be taken with a pinch of salt also.

Ok so he doesn't like bikes,so what? Many people don't but I still find them decent individuals? :?

I like him, I respect anyone who speaks there mind. :)

So he doesn't like bikes, doesn't mean I don't like him. My mum hates bikes, doesn't mean I hate her! :o

He is also a true brit, anyone see that episode when a put a disused Lightning Combat Jet in his garden. His wife went spacko and he said this is the reason your not speaking russian right now!

Fair play to the bloke!

Ha this old nutshell, seems MCN are having the same rant about Jezza , as for him hating bikes I think it's just for the reaction , as a few months back (sure it was mentioned in another posting ) James May was doing a column in Two Wheels Only saying that Clarkson actually got his wife a Ducati 800 Monster, so either he's a closet bike fan or got his wife well insured :o ,

Either way I myself take it with a pinch of salt, and find him enteraining at what he does , Must be fun hooning around in top motors like :D ,

How can anyone not respect this man?

His opinions are controversial I admit, and sometimes he does go a bit far, but most of the time, he's only saying what he thinks. Im sure if most of us had of done half the stuff he's done we'd be very much the same.

I mean, the guys done everything. Anyone remember the Speed program he done, fastest things on the planet, fighter jets, jet boats etc..

Plus all the videos and series he has done with car reviews, the world motor trade etc.

And he's driven a Veroyn, enough to be jealous of. Not to mention pretty much every supercar made, the McLaren F1, McLaren Merc, top astons, top rarris, Zondas, everything.

Love or looth his opinions, the guys a star and i have the upmost respect (and jealousy) for what he's done. Dammit, I need me a job like that.

and he's a lot cleverer/more intelligent than most people might think.

he's very passionate about Engineering and engineering feats.

One other thing to remember is that Jeremy Clarkson the TV presenter & Writer is a CHARACTER portrayed by Jeremy Clarkson the person in an attempt to encourage viewers / readers - something he does v well !!

I like the guy - I just don't agree with everything the character says !! :D

I like him... Sometimes he does step over the line- remember when he told Sun readers (I think) to stick their arm out next time someone filtered past them? But generally I find him- and by and large, the programs he's in- funny, intelligent and skewed enough to keep them interesting.

Top bloke!

Love his completely unPC attitude, most refreshing.

I also think he may well be one of the few genuine modern day patriots. Did anyone see his program on the Victoria Cross?

He's very entertaining and funny. Some of the comparisons he makes between cars and other things / people / places / pieces of music etc. etc. are pure class.

On the other hand, if we all were like him there'd be no oil left on the planet by Tuesday week. Not that that would matter as we'd all be dead from breathing the smog we create :P

Totally agree

I watched that programme it was really good, you could tell he had done a lot of research and was genuiley fascinated by the people who the cross had been awarded to.

The other series of programmes hes done about inventions that changed the world were really good as well.

But you have to prefer JC than the bike loving Richard Hammond, I liked him until swamped my tv with his white smile!

of course he's contravertial, thats why he is rated so highly for the sort of show he fronts.. and why not. its only one person speaking his mind. dont always agree with him but the nob makes me laugh. :D

Clarkson...sometimes we get what we deserve.

But there is hope.

If you have no brains, no hope, no ability, no skill, no humour and no talent then gaze upon Clarkson and dream.

In the world of celebrity big brother...the one eyed man is king.

He puked up in the F-15 too....wuss.

You base your tirade of insults on what?

Looks like you'll find yourself firmly in the minority there I'm afraid. You need a pinch of salt and a sense of humour

As for the F15, try aerobatics and see how well you cope 8)

i find hammond rather nauseating to be honest.

really didnt like May to start with, but the three of them together are a very good team. works very well. they've breathed life back into what was a pretty stale format, very tired and old school.

Yes, great viewing, also the Great Britons programme he did about Brunel, it may not tell us much we don't already know, but it's most entertaining and Clarkson's enthusiasm for the subject is quite apparent.

I quite like him, I really enjoyed his "Inventions that Changed the World" series.
I also enjoyed the programme he did about Major Rober Cain (His father in law) who was awarded the VC at Arnhem.

Ok Clarkson talks out of his **** sometimes, but don't we all ?

I find Hammond on the other hand unbelievably irritating.

JC is very good at what he does best "take the ****" "get things wrong" ETC

and his little halfpint sidekick has been perfectly chosen

and dont forget the posh twit as well

I like Clarkson, because he speaks his mind, he's patriotic and he's not afraid to say what he thinks. He doesn't keep in line with that politically correct ****e either, which I think has really ruined almost every form of entertainment/TV/politics etc.
