View Full Version : Damp Foggy Stuff

Hi,

I was riding home the other day and there was what appeared to be freezing fog or just some cold mist in the air (I'm no weatherman . . . .). Anyway, my bike kept cutting out unless it got constant revs so I was having to hold the throttle open when stopping at lights etc. Not wide open or anything but about 2k revs.

Is this just caused by poor quality air in the carbs or might there be a more sinister issue somewhere?

Help appreciated!

Thanks,

Al

Sounds like carb icing to me. But you dont say whether you ride a curvey or a pointy. If you have a K3 onwards which has fuel injection then it isnt this.

Have a search on the forum, we've discussed this a few times recently

yeah, this sounds like the problem. It's only happened to me the once and as I said, it was very cold and foggy/misty. At least I know what was wrong anyway!

Thanks

Mine started off doing that, then got progressivly worse. I though it was just the low temps, then it stopped completly.

Turns out the plugs were coverd in soot. New plugs and all is good again.
