mr postman brings me an NIP, 3 of the finest plus a £60.

thanks then

81 in a 70! on a dual carriage way, dry, clear, in a virtually new car, very safe, can stop extremely quickly.....

oh well. rules is rules. take it on the chin, grin and bear it.

That's unlucky because the threshold is 79 for a 70!

Problem is if it was an LTI 2020 there is a chance you weren't speeding in the first place :D

if i was on the bike i'd have probably been going quicker!! i was in the cage, business trip and all that guff. its a road i've travelled about 25 million times (roughly!), but i think the buggers got me with a mobile camera. seem to hazily recall a van on top of a bridge..... :?

this is a good start!

oh by the way, as this is my thread, hosted by yours truly i WILL have to charge rental for each post parked. sorry. seeing as i'm a reasonable kind of guy i shall charge £2 per post and 50p per smiley icon.

please do not confuse this ruling with a veinly disguised fine funding exercise. the two are totally seperate.

You have my sympathy mate ( got done twice last year - 45 and 46 in fourty zones, the police are beginning to ignore the guidelines set down in the pace regulations concerning minimum amounts over the limit ).

Still it could be worse ( doesnt put you on 31 points now does it ? - LOL )

Keith...I knew you were in the car! Which adds in my mind more to the argument that car drivers should be banned from the roads!

I got hit for 37 in a 30 recently... I know the road well, on the outskirts of a village, and I was the only vehicle in sight. And I was in the car (the wifes car actually) The "10% plus 3mph" rule would be 36

That's the problem with cameras, it's black or white, no middle ground. A copper may well have given me a stern talking too and let me get on my way.

Like you say, rules are rules, just take it on the chin and move on....

be thankful you don't live up here where they use hire vans instead of branded speed camera partnership vans :(

i have heard of a few people being done for speeds outside the 10% + 2 threshold and being sent on patronising speed courses which cost about twice as much as the fine (although you don't get 3 points)

unfortunately it is just a guideline and they could very well do you for 1mph over the limit if they were feeling short of money

I think you got off lightly. Personally I never speed anywhere and those that do should be taken off to a scrap yard by the police and forced to watch as their vehicle is crushed. Then they should be banged up for life.
