Welcome to the club. You will also find a forum for people North of the border and maybe even from Aberdeen.......

SV is a cracking first bike so buy one!

Cheers for the advise, am looking at fully fairing the bike due to the lovely weather we get up this neck of the woods, is it better to get it done through the dealer when buying the bikke or do it aftermarket?

Hi.The first advice is fit some crash bungs before you need them.

Hello pal...

Don't forget to visit the 'Scottish Section': http://forums.sv650.org/viewforum.php?f=30

They'll have rideouts etc coming soon ;)

Get some decent crash bungs (NOT Suzuki ones, they're crap :!:) fitted just in case, Lowers do finish the bikes off well, but I'm not sure they give you that much protection from the elements :?

welcome chris. sv would be an excellent first bike. :D its a practical bike offering tuning, cosmetic potential without breaking the bank.

Hi there cumfy, welcome aboard. Another Highlander for the clan.

I'd back up madmal's comments 100%. The SV is not too intimidating for newbies but you'll not get bored of it either. As you'll hear a lot....it's a fun bike.

Unless you're planning on doing lots of rural runs you can get by without the full fairing no probs. It's not a bike that is plagued by electrical problems in the rain so as long as you keep the looks in check, maybe get one without lowers first and add them later if you feel it's required. Just my tuppence worth.

hi folks,

thanks for the warm welcome. I will take the advise about the bungs for certain.

I stay out on Deeside so country runs are the norm. My dad also rides but being old he has a beemer.

Just starting hunting for the sv so will give Cupar a look as Shirlaws in Aberdeen is hugely expensive.

Cheers Cumfy

Welcome to the site ma loon!

Agreee Shirlaws seem a bit pricy, salesman Donald seemed sound bloke though when I was in having a nosey one day, no pressure just lot of good honest advice.

Cupar come highly recommended by loads of folk, after sales service apparently very good and courtesy bike when yours is in for service. Also have been regularly voted top Scottish dealer in 'Ride' magazines' annual rider survey.

Suzuki also doing promo offering initial 3 services free at suzuki dealers on number of new models including SV. Good time to buy!
