View Full Version : Nice curves
This has got to be one of the best looking bikes in recent years IMO. I think this is next on my shopping list. Might look for a 2005 model next winter when prices are good.
Stunning bike.

That looks odd to me... TO MUCH PLASTIC!

Nope!
If I was going for a ZX6 it would be the B1H.

Scoobs - I've heard the ride on the 6R is pretty harsh, true? And how does the seating position compare to your CBR? (I found the CBR a bit tall, for putting foot down and feeling a bit too much like I'm sitting too high)

Have to disagree with you on that one Scobs, the new one is magnificent to look, especially in black.. Here's a link, as it's a big picture.....

Damn, thats even nicer!! Is that the 2006 model?
I cant help think that the new 675 looks too much like it...

The test ride I had on the ZX6 wasn't too bad. I don't think that it is as compliant as the CBR and is certainly more of a challenge to ride quickly. It also wheelies a hell of a lot easier. Seating may be a little lower. I know what you mean about the CBR. First time I rode it I felt like I was sitting on top of it.

I was just thinking how it looks like a old curvy... that tail peice would look rather fine on a curvy sv I think...
Is the fuel tank on that new one the same as the one on the ER-6....

Really? They look very different to me, frame, swingarm etc etc.
AFAIK, the 2005 model was praised for its road abilities offering a more pleasant ride compared to the other 600's.
Have to disagree with you on that one Scoobs.
And you are entitled to Steve. I always value the opinion of a fellow Honda pilot.
It's just that the new one (IMO) looks too fussy. the B1H is just simple and functional to look at.

Which year ZX6 did you test?

It's surprising the difference that extra 36cc makes. Have only ever ridden one and thought it was a nice bike, gearbox wasn't as good as my GSXR though (then again, all the journo's rate Suzuki boxes).
I thought the seating position was better and more comfortable than the CBR, but even though it's a Honda, I'm not a big lovver of the RR. It's gourgeous to look at, but I found it very peaky peaky with not a lot in the middle (compared to my GSXR). That said, when you get used to it, it won't seem to be a problem.

Yup, gorgeous bike but i'd rather have

It is, but I learnt to ride on an Aprilia RS125. It's like going back to 2 stroke to some extent on the CBR.

You do have to ride it a lot differently to a twin, that's for sure.

Yeah that might be it. I got on the CBR and in 10mins I was riding a bike with 50% more power than I'm used to around, pinning the throttle when the roads allowed and it just shoots forwards without any drama, and I felt completely comfortable. I'm guessing this is where the 'boring' aspect comes from, although I enjoyed feeling that in control. Need to test more sports 600s (I'd like to try the 636, b1h and new) to see how they compare.
Muah.... that Daytona is LUSH!!! (although I do like the ninjas too..)
OOoooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeeeeeaaaaahhhhhhhh....

Hum, Don't like that much. When I saw the new ZX-10R (or is it 12? The one that looks like a frog) I thought "Hmm, it's like an ugly 636". Now I've seen the new 636 I think "Hmm, it's an ugly ZX10R". The '05 636 is a thing of utter beauty, IMO, simply the nicest supersport 600 there's ever been. Including the Daytona 675. And it seems to work pretty well too, though I've only ridden the first of the 636s.

The 05 and 06 636's are the same bike though???

Is it? Oh dear. Must just be an incredibly unflattering photo then- I'd taken that for a new, uglified model.

03 and 04 ZX-6's are the same, and 05 - 06's are the same...
Im rather biased in my opinion on which looks better ;) I will say that the B1H / B2H looks a tad more ****ed off... it just looks right as well! and yes, it does like to wheelie! even when your not wanting to, you know the fronts getting light, leave the clutch out slowly and early, or you end up going along on one wheel.... good fun though :P
http://premium1.uploadit.org/valleyboy//ZX636.jpg
it now has a seat cowl and the rear mud guard is on it... as well as R&G's I dont care if it looks good without the mud guard on it... I dont like having to jet wash my back everytime I go through a puddle!
Oh.. cant forget teh Remus thats now there instead of that oversized chimney pot!
At a £1200 cheaper than the 675 its priced well. Kwak also have their interest free 3 year deal on which will move some numbers - something more to consider.
aaaw please stop with the pictures folks, you'll have me spending again. love the triumph :riding:

Wow. £5999 OTR with 3 years interest free credit. Very nice!.

Same with Jack Lilley in Ashford this weekend
i liie valleyboys style of kwak zxr6, but in blue or black...mmmmm
although after visiting fowlers on saturday i think im in love with the 06 gsxr600 in blue and white...
daytona triple 6 looked nice and felt very focised (very much backside felt higher than head) but it felt quite cheap imo.
Andy
J2 (2001) in blue... Bloomin perfect 8)
That said I'd have been very happy with a B or C model as well
You have to agree that the majority of new bikes at the moment are fantastic looking.
Its makes you wonder how they can keep developing the looks and design any more.
Now, all we need is the money

I'll have one!
Unless a 2005 ZX-10r came up for the same money...
Thats a bike!
Actually, i'll kill myself on the ZX-10. I think anything more than a CG125 is too much for me.
